NO!!! APIC is needed for SMP, without it nothing works.
It's ACPI that could be turned off, different things.

See below, try MPS instead of ACPI multiprocessor.

Hi Everyone, here is an update on the status of my MSI K9ND Speedster system.

We are alive and well thankfully... I managed to to get hold of two XFX Geforce 7900GTX PCI graphics cards. Ive decided to use an XFX 8800GTS 320MB XXX as my primary card, and a XFX 7900GTX as my second card, so that i can operate three or 4 screens, though currently three screens.

My conclusion for the MSI K9ND Speedster motherboard is that it can not operate Geforce 8xxx graphics cards out of the box, but i havent discounted 100% that it is unfixable, though i leave it to someone with more technical understanding. Im unsure if sli will work with later Geforce ^ 7xxx cards.

Single cards seem to work correctly for most cards, so this problem is only related to sli & dual graphic cards configurations.

I had no problems at all running two 8800gt together (in SLI mode as well as in parrallel mode) in my MS-9652.
This is however with win7 - I can not say anything about any other OS. As soon as I put the second card in, the driver gave my a message that the system is correctly set up for SLI mode and asked me to enable it.
I guess this screen shot says it all:

Ah, what came to my mind: If it is really about space in the bios (migth be that WIn7 just rescans the PCIe bus, than it wouldn't), try deactivating the boot roms of the two network controlers (and the raid controler if you don't use it) in the bios. I deactivated at least the boot options of the network controlers and this obviously leaves enough room in the bios so that a SCSI controler I have around can shadow it's own bootrom in the bios.
I hope that helps.

Messie, you use 512MB cards, that could be the reason it works for you.

He is using Windows 7 guys, comeon think a little... Its a different operating system.

I believe i read some where a while back that other users using different boards who has the code 12 error, managed to operate there cards with XP64, Vista & now Windows 7.... But we are talking XP Pro SP2 & SP3.

Ill look in the ACPI vs MPS theory...

Hi NOS9, how's it going? Just wanted to let you guys know I got a hold of 2 x Quadro FX5500 w/1Gb of DDR3 on each - they are working great on the Speedster2 platform in SLI, no problems so far! As soon as I can find the time I'll try them in the original Speedster1 system
- Oh yea the Speedster2 is running Win7 x64 - I'll let you guys know about the Speedster1 as soon as I try them!

Out of curiosity......
Are you still using these two PCI-E Video Cards for your Dual Configuration??

XFX Geforce 8800GTS 320MB DDR3 XXX Edition PCI-E -- PVT80GGHD4 Card 1
XFX Geforce 7900 GTX 512MB DDR3 PCI-E -- PV-T71F-YDFR2 Card 2

Where each works on it's own and not together?Huh
