My MSI U230 netbook wireless stop working the other day.

Here is what transpired.

I was on my wireless network at home and a visitor arrived and I closed the netbook without disconnecting from the wireless.   It was not plugged in to power at the time and the next day it had run out of power.

So I connected it to power and booted it up.   It will not detect any local networks, including mine.
However, the LAN connection does work.

I know the wireless network is running because my HP Laptop is using it in the upstairs bedroom.

Now, when I look at Device Manager their is an exclamation point at the Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter Icon.

When I check on it, I get the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"   

What should I do to resolve this?

Start by uninstalling the wireless device's drivers, rebooting and then installing the drivers again. Drivers available here: http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=nbdriver&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1928

I uninstalled the drivers from Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter and reinstalled the one recommended.

I rebooted but it will still not detect any wireless network.

I have a caution symbol with exclamation point on the wireless symbol area and says:

"Currently connect to:

     Unidentified network
     No network access    "

Then the Wireless Network Connection panel will open with either one my wireless connection entries listed, including my home network.  Then it will try to connect to but fails.

Trouble shooting function is of no use.
 
It seems I cannot turn on or off the the wireless using the Fn & F10 Keys either.  No response.

Under device manager, there is no Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter Icon any longer.  Only the following three entries appear under Network Adapters:

1  "802.11bgn 1T1R Mini Card Wireless Adapter"

2   "Realteck PCIe GBE Family Controller"

3    "VitualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter"

What should I try next?

I tried reinstalling the drivers.  It now says device is working properly under device manager.

However, when choosing a network, I get the statement that the wireless adapter is disconnected!

One of my geek colleagues at work suggested I try an external usb wireless adapter to to see if it is something in windows.

I did and it worked.  I am thinking the internal wireless adapter is broken and must send the entire unit back to msi because it is still under warranty for one more month.

Any comments would be appreciated.

i had the same issue and happens each time my battery runs out.
1. using function keys, disable wifi
2. run windows trouble shooter, right click on wifi icon at right bottom status icon
3. troubleshooter will suggest to turn on wifi capability using function keys, do that and run trouble shooter again, choose apply fix.
