Hello There,

Here I'm, just after google couldn't help me anymore.

Well, as the title say, I`m looking for a BIOS for the PM8PM-V motherboard, it is old I know, but I`m having a USB problem (wont recognize mouse, pendrive, on windows xp or 7) and my last shot is updating the bios, maybe it can fix my problem.
I just downloaded MSIHQ Tool for BIOS update, but don`t have the Bios file, need the last one please, mine is Phoenix - Version 6.00 PG Date 11/09/2006, I`m pretty sure there is a 2007 bios release for this board, but couldn't`t find it.
If you guys know a better tool for updating this bios, please tell me.

first disconnect case usb from board header

boot to windows delete all usb in device manager

then reboot and retry rear usb

Hey,

I downloaded that tool.
I'm seeing right on the BIOS right now (boot time), it says:

Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG

PM8PM W7222VMS V3.1B5 110906

So it is not MS7222 but W7222VMS.

Does someone know how can i get the last version of this BIOS? MSI just don't help by letting we download it from the their website... that really suck, this will make me twice before buying a MSI MB again =(

But there is a problem, how can i work with that tool (msi hq usb) if what i'm having trouble with, is the USB ports ? I cant plug a pendrive because windows doesnt recognize it, and the other computer I can use doesnt have a MSI board...

Isn't there a software to update it from windows? I dont believe i have a floopy disk around +_+

you're issue problably isn't bios related, leave bios update alone

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 7 Pro, and Windows XP, all of them detected that I plugged something on the USB but and error occurred and couldn't identify it. (tried mouse, pendrive, webcam)
It can't be BIOS related, but why not upgrading it anyway? It might just fix it (pointer to USB register just corrupted?), or I will just buy a PCI card with 4 USB, but my BIOS will be the last one anyway. And there is a second thing, I want to upgrade the processor, but this BIOS will not recognize the core 2 duo that say it support on the msi website.

Yeah, I think Henry got it right, now I have the BIOS, but the upgrading part is not helping much.

How people did upgrade it back on 2006 / 2007 ? (before this usb software).

If the ports worked before it can't be the BIOS, as a BIOS doesn't go bad over time.
A BIOS works or it doesn't.
What changed in the hardware/software that you can't use USB anymore?
You have to trace your steps back to where it did work.
