Hi, first time poster and noob here. Was just wondering, I've been reading complaints in some forums regarding poor performance (freezing, overheating etc.) of factory overclocked Nvidia cards when using the newest official drivers (280 onwards). Is there a specific driver currently recommended for my card?

I'm sure you'll get other suggestions but I've stayed with 275.33 with no problems.

I second that.  275.33, no issues at all.

Thanks for the advice, 275.33 is what I'm using currently and looks like I'll be sticking with it. Haven't had a single problem with that driver running The Witcher 2 and Hard Reset. With any build of the 280 drivers however sometimes just clicking on a Firefox link would cause problems.

The 280.XX drivers did cause problems with 560 TI cards. Not all were affected but the NVidia forum had a host of reported issues with those drivers. A lot of them were solved by reverting to the 275.33
Glad it works for you.
In general don't change drivers unless a specific issue is being addressed by the driver.

Hi all !
I encountered issues with 280.XX driver, not in games but running Firefox (driver hangs). Back to 275.33, no error message for 2 weeks, everything's working like a charm :)
Hope it helps.

Seems that the graphics driver crashing when using Firefox is caused by an incompatiblity between the new Nvidia drivers and the Adobe Flash plugin for Firefox. Hope that Adobe will fix that in the announced Adobe Flash Player 11. The beta is still causing crashes.
