Hi and Good Day Svet,

If it is not too much to ask, do you have any schematics of EX 400 mother board and kindly give me a copy? I accidentally fried my laptop by unintentionally forcing it with 19 volts at USB port during my PIC programming (back USB port). which turn my set to a dead laptop.
Hoping for your positive response.

We have no schematics.
But if you put 19V on the USB ports you have fried it beyond repair, no doubt about that.
How on earth did you put 19V on USB?? :bonk:

Hi Bas,

Thanks for the Reply.
I fried it during PIC programing in accident. If I could have the schematics I may give it a shoot at USB driver if it has or something like that. I still have high hopes on my laptop. If you could help/assist me, it will be very highly appreciated. Can you?

Sorry can't as MSI doesn't hand out schematics.

However, it's probably useless, as it's using an SIS chipset, so you probably killed part of the southbridge.
As SIS works like this:

As you can see, it's the SB doing USB itself, not a separate chip.
I can't get the schematics, but I'm pretty sure it's the chipset.

Only hope you have is sent the laptop for repairs to MSI.

Thanks for the info Bas.
I'm actually run out of warranty. (two years)I believe MSI will not bother to look at my laptop because of that. Can you assist me in sending my unit to MSI? What are the steps? I preferred sending it directly to MSI it self than MSI service center in my area for I have heard bad rumors of it.
Please assist me.

Sorry, I have no clue how it works in your country.
I have contacts with MSI EU and USA, but I can't help in Asia.

Only way to find out is contact MSI yourself: >>How to contact MSI.<<

But if the laptop is out of warranty, be prepared to pay more for repairs for such then a new laptop will cost.
In my opinion, take your mistake for what it is and buy a new laptop.
