MSI-760GM-E51
« on: 14-November-11, 20:20:32 »

Ok ive used the search feature and didnt find quite my issue.  So here goes, im upgrade my friends old emachines with totally new guts.  I installed the MSI-760GM-E51 board with an AMD socket AM3 Regor 3.0Ghz 4gb of DDR3 G Skill Ram and Thermaltake 430W PSU  However I get power up but no beeps no video from the hdmi port.  This isnt my first trip through building a system this is probably my 12th or 13th system.  Any idea what the problem could be!  Ive cleared the cmos settings, reset the bios jumper and still same thing power on, fans  not beep!
Any help would be much appreciated.  Ive never used an MSI board  Im an EVGA/ASUS guy!

have you connected all power cables?
have you tried to boot with barabone setup and with mainboard out of PC case?
how many sticks you have there?
have you tried to boot with 1 memory stick too?

Yes I connected the 20+4 pin to the power connector plus connected the 4pin CPU power.  Im only using 1 stick and all power cables are connected.
And I got the thing to Beep once then 2 times quickly!  So ill have to play with it a little more later on!

no video from the hdmi port

Can you check whether or not anything changes when you use the DVI or VGA port instead of HDMI?

As soon i get home I will try to use the DVI port with my monitor.  Or ill use my TV and the vga port!  I thought the powersupply I bought was the culprit but the 4 phase power lights lit up!

I used the VGA port and saw the msi boot screen and since im waiting for the hard drive back from my friend it would go no further! however got the pc to boot.  Once I get the HDD back and a new dvd rom!  we will be good to go!
