Teaming Genie (on 990FXA-GD80)
« on: 15-December-11, 13:32:03 »

Hello guys!

Could someone explain what teaming genie can do?

"Teaming Genie provides network traffic load balancing and redundancy should one of your network connections fail. Obviously to enable this feature, you must have at least two NICs but the program can support up to 10. While this is a nice feature for server-class systems, the average PC user likely won't get much use out of it. And since the board only includes one built-in Ethernet jack, you would need to install at least one additional NIC to enable Teaming."

Say for example you had 2 ADSL connections (2 routers), could you combine this 2 with teaming genie and increase your bandwidth???
Does it work only to protect a current NIC? (eg a wireless stick is the protection of the onboard ethernet controller)
Is it operable when combining a wifi stick and the mb's ethernet controller?

Is there any guides here for its operation?

thanks for all the help!

Did the mainboard come with any additional manuals, guides, or inserts? If so, if a Software Application User Guide was included, then all the information can be found in it how it all works. If the mainboard only has one port, then trying to use it would be an excercise in futility. :-))
