MSI P6N SLI Platinum, newbie question
« on: 02-March-12, 05:42:05 »

I'm currently running Window XP, and I would like to change to Windows 7, 64 bit. Will I be able to install 16 gb of ram?
4 x 4GB

TIA

Unfortunately not.
Have a look on the mainboard specifications link http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P6N-SLI-Platinum.html#/?div=Detail

Under the memory section it states:
• Supports dual channel DDR2 533/667/800, using four 240-pin/1.8V DDR2 DIMMs.
Supports a maximum memory size up to 8GB

Its a chipset limitation.
