Z68A GD55-G3 and Lucid Virtu
« on: 03-April-12, 13:25:14 »

Hi all
I have an issue with Lucid Virtu on my system.

I have reinstalled the OS, Updated the BIOS to the current version, updated the Lucid Virtu Drivers, Updated the Intel HD drivers in device manager and still the same thing occurs.

Setup
Core i3 2100 at stock
8gigs Corsair Vengeance 16000 RAM at stock
Z68A GD55 G3 Board.
250GTS 1gig
Corsair TX750
Stock Voltages
Samsung 32" Full HD TV via 3 meter HDMI cable

System has not BSOD, system is stable with the TV plugged in to the 250GTS and no issues.
Doing a Memtest86-it could be RAM
I think it could be the auto adjust settings on the TV but I have disabled all auto adjust settings that might relate to the TV picture that I can see.
Tried a different HDMI cable-same issue.
Tried different RAM settings for the Lucid Virtu
Tried Microsoft Intel HD drivers via Windows update.

D mode enabled or iMode enabled gets this when plugged into the HDMI slot on mobo:

Did a complete MemText86+: Pass.
Tried Single RAM slots: No change.
Sorry and the RAM is 1600, not 16000 LOL!

Any ideas? At all?

Ideas: your GTS250 works and you are not getting these distortions, then you may have a defective integrated GPU or even a bad board connector. Have you tried using a standard D-Sub (VGA) connection to see if there is a difference ?
Also try by removing the GTS250 and just use the onboard graphics.

Thankyou for your reply.
I removed the card and tried again. Still the same issue regardless of the mode enabled.
I think it could be the graphics on the i3 acting up as you said. I'm sure the motherboard, RAM, GPU and PSU are fine.
Tried different RAM slots too. Nothing.

Trust you know someone with another Sandy Bridge processor to try on your board. Or try your CPU on another Z68 board and see what happens. That way at least you will establish if it's processor or board related.

Yep. Thats a great idea and my next move.
Thankyou for your assistance.

The Intel Test passed both times, one with the Lucid Virtu on i and another with it just the graphics card and D mode.

Going to try a mates Core i3 I know of.

I haven't been able to source a core i3 to test it with but I want to check the RAM first.
Memtest86+ didn't find anything but I just saw a thread in the Intel forums with the same issues I am having.
The guy ordered new RAM and the issue was resolved. He ordered a new CPU and new board before that which didn't help.
