Hello.
Yesterday I was flashing my BIOS from Version    5.2 to Version    6.0.

I have downloaded 7677v60.zip file, extracted it to F:\7677v60\E7677v60 (my usb stick)
I have used front USB port.
I have launched E7677v60.exe from F:\7677v60\E7677v60 folder and wait installation to complete. There were notification (Do not unplug your USB stick)
Windows where restarted, then computer started and after some time (approximately 5 - 7 seconds) computer restarted.
After second start, I have a message: BIOS  Updating ________________ File not found.
I have tried to shutdown, put my usb stick in rear ports, but it make nothing.

So, please help, how to Update or How to recover my BIOS on motherboard? :confused2:
And, why this appeared ( I don't unplugged my USB stick all the time of setup and restart)? :confused2:

maybe the update didn't gone well for some reason, but the BIOS is trying to flash it again...
Flash via BIOS method requires the bios file to be in the root of the pendrive. Try to copy it from the folder to the root, and make sure the stick is fat16/fat32 formatted.

USB Stick made bootable prior to the flash? Flash should have been attempted in DOS mode. If you have tried a CMOS clear and now can't get back into the BIOS at all, the mainboard is most likely borked.

Ok. Thank you.

Maybe you could tell me which files (the best with file names) I need to copy to the root of USB stick?
And any keypressing is needed?
And is there difference to put USB into front (Computer Case USB) or in rear USB port?

I have done all that I explained in first post (From Windows XP 32bit). Maybe there where a problem because I start installation file from F:\7677v60\E7677v60 not from F:\?

And after restart, I have a screen like USB Updating_______________File not found.

This is what is supposed to be placed on the bootable USB stick. Unpacked from the zip file, then unpacked from the unzipped folder;

In DOS Mode, just type E7677v60 at the prompt and hit 'Enter' keyboard key. Temptation is to remove the USB stick too early. The system will restart itself during the process about three times before it is safe to remove the stick.

Hopefully, one of the forum admins, mods, or an experienced user versed in recovery procedures may be able to advise what to do next.

Ok. Thank you. I will wait.

Do you advice me to try clear CMOS on motherboard?
Or it's better to wait, maybe there is a solution how to resolve it?
When I get to home I will take some screenshots.

If it was me, I would probably remove the PSU power cord, remove the battery for awhile and clear CMOS and then give it a try again. That might not be the correct choice though. I would wait for a more experienced answer to that.

Ok, I have pressed F1 on keyboard, during system start up.
Now it shows: Bios Update is not yet completed, please insert the USB pen drive and reset system.
But for now, when I insert USB pen drive into USB port, I see that no power goes to USB :noidea:

What to do now, I don't know.
Any advice?  :confused2:Please.

Hello,
Today gave my m/b to computer service. Maybe they re-flash for me my m/b BIOS.
I will write about that here, after they sent response to me. :)

Hello,

Get attached file, then extract the file to your root(main)[\] folder of the USB stick.
Then try again and see if BIOS update process will continue.

Hello!
I have the same problem.
I used front usb port. Usb stick use FAT32 file system.
I downloaded 7677v60.zip file, extracted it to my usb stick to root directory.
I launched E7677v60.exe from root directory of my usb stick.
After reboot the text was displayed:”Bios update is not yet completed, please insert the usb pen drive and reset system.”
USB stick contained files :EIVB.BIN, 7677v60.exe, 6LDUOJFG empty folder.
I tried to use different usb port on MB and different usb sticks, result the same – I see that no power goes to USB (USB sticks didn’t flash).
I tried to use file that recommend Svet, result was the same.
Bernhard, if I am not mistaken, this board does not support non-usb floppy disk and owner of this MB cannot use method described in http://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/how-to-recover-the-bios.
Please give me advice what to do.
Thank you.
