Hi Svet, hoping you can help me or at least let me know if it's possible. I am trying to run a RAID 0 on Solid States and I'm having an issue with the controller picking up both drives at 6Gb/s, anything a custom BIOS would fix?

can't tell, but i can unlock the BIOS with wanted options, so you can have a try.

Let me do some more independent testing with the drives to ensure I don't have a botched drive. If I can't make any headway I will most likely donate and give the custom BIOS route a try.

Ok, np. My last telling to do not flash anything in such case, was to avoid double re-flashing.
But it wont matter, we will still do the wanted stuff just one extra reflashing will be done.

You mean Left control with the Fn or Windows key?:

Got the custom BIOS in place but doesn't seem to have any feature to force the other drive to be detected at 6Gb/s. I think it's a limitation of the ports on the main board. It seems Port 0 and 1 are 6Gb/s while the remaining four sata ports are 3Gb/s. Is there any way to swap those ports or is that restricted to hardware?

There is a option to force the Sata gen speed, but dunno for which ports is related.

this looks like 2 of the ports are controlled by one controller, while remaining 4 by different with lower sata gen capability.

Yea that's what I'm assuming, I do have it forced to Gen3 so for whatever reason Port 1 is the only 6Gb/s port available to the HDD bays. I wish I would've known that before purchasing two SSD's thinking I would get full 6Gb/s performance.

isn't it possible to connect them at gen3 ports?
also i doubt that there is any or its very minimal difference between gen2 and gen3 in speed.
its like theoretic speed, etc even connected to gen 3 ports the will not run at 6Gb/s speed,
but down to the SSD's speed itself, which i think gen2 bandwidth should enough not to slow down them

If possible to test, connect one of the SSD drive on gen2 speed and test his performance.
then connect it to gen3 port and retest, then compare their transfer rate.

The laptop board uses special adapters for the SATA connection to the drive, it would likely require me tearing the whole machine apart to locate Port 0. Even after locating it I would have to rig a custom wire from Port 0 to the correct location in the chassis which I'm not very interested in doing. I test @ 525MB/s read speeds currently but know with full 6Gb/s that number should be double in RAID0
