Hi,

I want to use an ivy bdrige, so i need to update my bios.

So i take this package : http://w ww.msi.com/product/mb/Z68S-G43--G3-.html#/?div=BIOS

I'm running Windows 7 64 Bit. When I try to run the executable (afude238.exe) I get this message:

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then content the software publisher."


-> So i try to flash with m-flash in bios : it find my usb key but any bios file ...

--> Ok. So i go to msihq usb bootable. I have read the guide. But after reboot, the bios always fail. It say that the file ID do not correspond to my MB.

So help me or just update this f*ckin package with the good file !!

what's your current bios version and what version you are trying to install?

Current version is : 4.1

Version i try to install : 5.0

The only version purpose by live update : 4.3

Ok, well you have to follow the MSI's sop to jump to the 5.xx version.

In the package : AFUDE238.exe and E7750IMS
I can't lunch AFUDE238 : "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then content the software publisher."

I have just update to 4.3 with MSIHQ -> flash ok.

I have retry to flash the 5.0 with MSIHQ -> the same error during the flash : "Rom file ROMID is not compatible with existing bios".

So i think there is a problem with the bios package 5.0.

I have try to lunch AFUDE238 since the recovery console of windows : no succes, can't open the file.

I take it you are trying to udpate in Windows? Read further into the SOP at around Page 15 and use the DOS method. First, you will have to make a USB stick bootable. You can't use the forum's USB flasher or it's key for the Ivy update.

This is what the file (example) should look like that you put on the bootable USB stick;



Boot to DOS, type the file name exactly as it is written, press the keyboard Enter key and let it do it's thing. DO NOT RETRACT THE USB STICK EARLY!

Ok, its MSI's error, msi will be noticed to update the BIOS archive as they upload the wrong stuffs. So be patient and wait some time.

ok the issue is now fixed, you can follow the MSI's sop to update to the 5.0 IV BIOS & ME8.
