"updating bios ...... file not found"
« on: 02-August-12, 19:25:07 »

Hope I'm asking this right ...

My H67MA-E35 is nearly bricked. When turned on, it says "updating bios ...... file not found" and stops.

I have a non-booting usb flash drive formatted fat32 with the following files on it:
   7680vD0.exe
   7680vD0.zip
I also have a cdr in the optical drive with the same files. (I have tried to run the .exe file on another machine, but it (correctly) complains that it's not running on the right motherboard and refuses to continue.) I run Linux, but that shouldn't matter because I'm not even getting to setup.

What am I doing wrong? HELP !!! :bonk:

It worked great -- many thanks! Setup is back, and claims to be V13 as it should.

But there is a weirdness ... The whole RAID subsystem system has "disappeared". Under SATA mode, the option for RAID has vanished, leaving only IDE and AHCI. But when I boot a live CD of linux, a RAID volume created previous to the bios upgrade shows up -- but the linux system won't DO anything with it (no mounting, no partitioning, no formatting) ...

I feel I'm missing something basic. Should I reburn the bios? Am I seeing some EFI strangeness I don't understand?

Try >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed.

maybe the raid settings are located in some other area?
