Windpad 110w Fan Noise

(1/1)

magnanimousness:
Hello Everyone,

The fan on my windpad has started making an awful buzzing noise. After some prodding and poking around inside, it seems as if the fan itself has developed some play and when it spins, the air pressure pushes it towards its housing, after which it makes contact, producing that annoying buzzing noise. I contacted the store I bought it from and they wanted to take the tablet in and have it repaired. Now I expected this and while I should probably let them take it, it means it will need to be shipped to another part of the country and placed in the repair queue.

This would probably mean I would only receive the tablet back after about 2 weeks (possibly more), since I use the tablet for both work, education and entertainment (my laptop died, making the tablet my only working computer), these are 2 weeks too many, specially given the fact that replacing this fan is pretty much a 5 minute job. My question is, would it be possible to source this fan directly from MSI or whomever has it sitting around so that I can keep using the tablet and just replace the fan myself when it comes? The place I got the tablet from wouldnt send me the part for some reason and said I should rather contact MSI (which I have, but they havent come back to me yet).

I know this request may seem unreasonable, but I've become completely reliant on the tablet, and cannot part with it for an extended period of time.

Thanks,

>>How to contact MSI.<<

Hey xmad,

Thanks for the link, but I have already contacted MSI (their global customer service I believe), they just havent gotten back to me yet, so I was just wondering whether anybody knew any other methods to get hold of the fan.

That said, perhaps I should try another contact method listed in that post.

Thanks.
