GT60 Win7 install
« on: 14-November-12, 23:36:11 »

Hi All,

I am new here and I will be a new owner of a GT60 one in a day or two... I have a quick Q.

Does the laptop come with a full version of Win7 or is it a pre installed version? Am I better off installing a full version?

I do have a copy of Win7 64bit Home Premium (that I use on my desktop), can I just use that disk with the win cdkey from the o/s that comes with the laptop to install the full version, or do I have to go out and purchase a new Win7?

Thanks for the help,

Pre installed, newly released GT60 come with Win8. Why should you be better off with installing another one? It is a normal Windows that has the same features like a Win7 Home Premium/Win 8 you buy seperately and install.

If you have a Win 7 DVD you should have a key anyway. None the less you don't get a separate key for the pre installed-OS so no. If you have no valid key for your Win7 on disc you'd have to buy another Windows if you don't want to use the pre-installed OS
