Monitor your CPU temperature. Mine (P4 2.8gz) hit 78 degrees and my comp started crashing! The cooling fan and cooler were almost totally blocked with dust! A lot of filth was adhering to the fan and vanes and required a good soak and shake in Isopropyl alcohol to unstick it.

A simple 0.5mm mechanical pencil is all you need to fix a bent CPU pin, the tip is a perfect fit for the pin, just slip it over the bent pin and push ever so lighty into place. full read in 7/05 issue maxmumpc. BTW: remove lead from pencil first.

Do not try memory you saw getting hot/smoke in another box.
it could have developed an internal short, and this can fry yuor CPU.

Likewise, a blown CPU should not be tried in another box...

do not use a DELL powersupply you salvaged, for a standard non-Dell system.
Chances are (high) it has other voltage in its ATX connector rails than what standard systems have...
That can blow it up fast...

when you are about to put that motherboard with the CPU, its heatsink, and the memory nicely installed on it into the case, why don't you first put that DVD burner in that 5 inch bay. Then try wether the motherboard will still go in.

There are many variations in sizes of cases, and one danger with them is that one sees a full length burner or CDROM drive come in contact with components on the motherboard when you GENTLY shove them in.
If you do that unawares of the dangers, and PUSH, you could seriously damage that mobo.

According to this post.its a DRAM error yes. ibecause i changed it from normal to ultra.how can i fix it

I managed to burn 2 pins of a RAM socket and 2 pins of the RAM module.
It was DDR RAM,  I must've somehow put it in backwards or perhaps not properly. could've sworn it was clipped in.

so nowadays, I always use a torch  l ,  line the RAM up on top of the module, make sure that the cut (in the module) and the key (in the socket) are aligned. The RAM module isn't symmetrical there are more pins on one side of the cut than on the other side. So I put it on the module and shine a torch to ensure I got it right. Then I push it down.

Torches always come in handy for us . Nowadays, I always bring along my mini Ultra Bright LED Torch with me .

UPDATE:-

On 478 based socket mainboards, the retention bracket that hold the Heat Sink & Fan (HSF) to cpu.........

Make sure that this is firmly in place, as it held in with 4 plastic pins.

These can become loose and cause unseen heat issues, especially with non INTEL HSF.....

Mainboard warping is common and in some cases failure of mainboard........

this happen on a friend of my, his friend help him build a new system p4 2.66 socket 775, after assembly, power on, everything work fine, then install windows,
he sucessful setup everything,  the next day, when he on the pc again,, few min after loading windows, system restart , and keep restarting every few min. my friend is a newb. after few time restart he aware something wrong, call his friend who assembly this system, the guy think just system conflict.

luckly i was there at the moment, i open the casing , found out the cpu fan was dead. sent for RMA and problem solve. lucky cpu doesn't fried.

when troubleshooting, try think from different way, dont u ever say " this must be xxxxx  cos the problem, " . when u have problem cannot solve, bring it to other ppl, they migh have different thought. and never approch to a system and say: "this is easy"

I moved my puter to another Room hooked it all up and hit the start button . booted fine , within 5 minutes I notice the temp alarm yelped at me .. I shut down opened the case and said O+MY+Gosh.. My North Bridge fan and heat sink was lying on my Video Card.. I could not believe this .. I used super glue by Locktite to glue it on after cleaning and adding more Silver paste. I was so lucky I thought could have burned all componets.. then 5 days late after maybe 20 hours of operation I hit the start button and POW!  and shutdown to silence.  I got a new PS but nothing is stirring.. I will buy a new MB and hope for the best..

Using super glue is a bad short cut........ as this does leave a gap and does not allow thermal paste to fully bond between main component and cooler unit.

Yes, it worked in past, I know. Today's components do not have the heat tolerance. 

I will keep posting here, as long as I find new problems.... I am sure I will LOL
