bios setting for cpu speed
« on: 26-November-04, 00:48:23 »

Kinda new to this kind of thing where after installing mother board and amd cpu the cpu speed comes up less than the actual chip. For instance my 2600+ came up as 2000 on the bios load screen as the computer starts up. I had a friend calculate for me how to get 2500 by inserting 166 as the cpu fsb clock bios option under frequency/voltage control section. But I've inserted a 3200+ AMD chip and of course I'm still getting the 2500 at load up. My question is how can I get the bios to see I have a 3200+ chip? Thanks!

Thanks for the help! Very much appreciated.  :-)) Could I impose on you one more time and ask how you derive that? Thanks again!
