Ive noticed the neo4 has a WIFI orange slot on the motherboard.... I'm based in the UK, any1 know where to buy the office MSI WIFI/Bluetooth Card from in the UK?

I know that's meant for MSI proprietary communication risers but at the end of the day isn't it just a standard PCI slot? In which case you can get any brand you like.

i was interested in getting the MSI one too and am also in the UK.  I didn't realise it was just a standard pci slot painted orange.

Well I don't know anything about the Neo4 so of course I can't be 100% sure but yes that slot's been there with previous incarnations like the Neo2 and it's just an orange painted PCI slot. That makes sense because otherwise it suggest that MSI developed their own kind of architecture.

You can see from athe manuals also that it's e.g. PCI slot 5 (for the Neo2) and "also works as a communications slot".

As to why they have marked this slot specifically for communications devices your guess will be as good as mine. All I can think of is maybe that slot (and none of other ones) is connected to the corecentre chip & the digicell thingy so that whatever is plugged there will show up in the comms section of that application.

Ah right.  So any wireles card will do aslong as its in the communication slot ?  Would this mean it would show up as a WIFI in the digicell ??? ... I understand just trying to get it clear that any device can be used in the communication slot.  Alough i would like MSI's device to sit in there

i'm thinking of just getting a USB wi-fi card instead.. it'll be easier all round.  Is there any advantage to go with a PCi one?

theres no advantage i dont think apart from if i get the msi duel net card then i can manage it via the digicell.  Just a extra option i suppose... i can't find anywhere in the uk where i can buy the offiicial cards for the neo4 motherboard    I really want one ....

You can get mine, I just fried it.. It now has a nice black mark on it.. Think i didn't seat it properly since it felt a bit too loose and *poof* when I turned on the computer, BIOS settings got cleared and all. Bluetooth or anything didn't work :( but the computer works fine still.. A new one will cost me around $87 :( This is the first card I fry, hope it won't happen again.

I personally use a USB Linksys Wireless 802.11B in my desktop. I like the USB better because it is easier to take to another computer temporarily, and if I end up getting a bad signal I can move the device around. Most of the time it is dificult to move the computer to get a better signal.    As far as using the digicell program, I have never used it, but I have been really happy with the wireless support on XP SP2. I even stopped using a wifi program that I paid for.

Just guessing but orange might not share IRQ and I believe USB uses more of the CPU
