Can't install onboard vid driver..
« on: 24-August-05, 18:42:16 »

Hi guys,
This is a low spec office computer that will just be used for word processing & a bit of internet.
I can't get the video driver to install, I'll post the log file hoping someone can help me find a workaround.
With just the fail-safe VGA driver there is no monitor detected in Device Manager but I don't expect it to detect the monitor while it's running in fail-safe VGA mode but I could try connecting another monitor.

Anyone?  Is the log telling me it can't find a monitor?

Not on this xp install, when I installed the 4-in-1 drivers supplied with the board XP failed to boot in anything but safe mode.

Thank you Dr Stu, that did the job.  The driver from your link installed without problem.
I also found that rushtop.sys was causing my previous problem with XP when I installed the chipset driver menu item on the MSI CD. With 'Slow Down CPU' disabled by Msconfig the blue screen problem is gone as well.
It's 5:35 (am) here & I'm very tired but happy.  Cheers!
