If the OPT1 jumper setting does not resolve the issue, please contact Western Digital Support for further troubleshooting

Hopefully this is my problem, but cannot be sure just yet...I'm putting together a cobbled-together system from previous PC projects to replace a dying Dell, and I found a "bargain" refurb motherboard from Mwave, so I bit on their bait.  After installing everything, my first boot revealed notes like "the system has changed" then "updating ESCD" was displayed, after which it hangs...no changes in setup has made any difference to this outcome, so I'll try the jumper setting change and see if that helps.  Any suggestions from the forum would be welcome as this is my first MSI product, (and first time I've  been foolish or cheap enough to try a refurb mobo) so it maybe MSI, but I'll defineately not try refurb mobos in the future!

hi ppl
i have MSI K8T Neo2F-FIR mother board and 1.8 AMD athlon installd on it.
nao the problem is that i have two hard drives. one is 120GB Seagate which is IDE
and the other one is Western Digital Caviar SE 250 GB.
i have windows installed on both drives
when i boot with the WD SATA hard, the windows worrk perfectly fine and the second hard is compatible with it
but when i boot with the Seagate IDE hard, firstly the boot process gets very slow, and then the windows in seagate corrupts the file system in the SATA drive and the drive goes dead. all the partitions go corrupt.
after that the SATA individually dont work. i have to repartition the drive.

can anyone suggest me the solution to this problem?
is it the manufacturing problem in the board?
cauz i had the older version of the same motherboard Neo2 series MSI and the same problem wos present ther as well
plz plz help me out ppl. da data is important and ive lost it once but i cant keep on loosing it again and again.
plz help

waiting for replies

I recently had problems with my machine where it kept freezing during windows start up.  I changed hard drives, managed a new XP instalation.  But then it started freezing again.  The last couple of tiems I turned it on, it wouldn't do anything except report a disc error.

I have removed every device in the machine, everything 1 by 1.  Plugging only one thing in, but I get the same light on the d bracket every time.  The error lights means 'Assign Resources to all ISA'.  I have tried clearing the CMOS with and without devices in.

I also get a series of bleeps, which I think is 2 very quick bleeps, followed by 8 short bleeps
