F.A.Q:
Q.: I've download the newest VBIOS for my card from MSI Web site, but its single file without instructions, how to flash it?
A.:
Create a bootable USB key. Guide how to: http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm
Once done download latest NVFlash 5.100.0.1 Utility from: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1893/.html
and extract nvflash.exe and CWSDPMI.EXE to the USB key,
then rename the VBIOS file downloaded from MSI for your card to 1.ROM.
[For example rename NV255MS.204 to 1.ROM, where "NV255MS.204" will vary depend of your card used,
Etc: the original VBIOS file downloaded from MSI web page renamed to 1.ROM]
/* Or some other name[up to 8.3 chars], but extension must end to .ROM */
And copy 1.ROM also to the USB key.
Then reboot the machine and boot from the USB key.
When you see A:\ or C:\, type:
nvflash.exe -b old.rom [ENTER] /* This will backup/save current installed VBIOS to old.rom */
Wait process to finish, then type:
nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 1.ROM [ENTER] /* This will flash your newest VBIOS */
Wait process to finish, then reboot the machine and you're done.
Retest and see how its goes.
If your Video card is still unstable, read >>Posting Guide<< 1st and provide full system specifications,
then open a new own topic in VGA forum section for troubleshooting.
Best Wishes,
