While plugged into AC power, battery status is "97%, not charging"

This is normal behaviour. Once fully charged, the notebook will stop charging the battery. Once the battery level reaches 95%, the battery will be charged again. This prevents the battery from being damaged from being constantly charged, and slightly reduces power consumption while plugged into the mains.
