New Bios here https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=283344.0

@Darkwark  [NOTE:This is the same as 1.40, however at the time of writing, 1.40 doesn't appear to be on the website yet]
It 's the same as  stable 1.4 or 1.40 Beta? :p
Why is so long to appear on the website?
1.43 no changelog ..
Command rate change, AGESA 1.0.0.4 version?

EDIT: Flashed but not see any difference for me, it 's rock stable.

Can't post any BIOS notes at this time.

As far as I can see, released 1.40 is done, but I don't see it posted on the website.
BETA 1.43 is the same as released 1.40.

MSI always uses x.xx as their BETA bios's, and then x.x0 as their released BIOS's. So 1.43 is a beta bios prior to the release of 1.40, and in this case, 1.43 was released then as 1.40 (after changing the corresponding numbers in the BIOS).

I've brought this to MSI's attention that it isn't on the website yet.

Yes what is the changelog for 1.43?
I'm guessing he's not able to comment about the BETA BIOS revisions at the moment.  When MSI posts the 1.40, stable, BIOS they will have all the information you require.

I'm still rocking 1.32 BETA.  If as darkhawk says, that 1.43 is the same as 1.40, I will happily wait.

It's been a short amount of time since we became "early adopters" of this new tech.  I expect it will be some time before it's solid (if it ever reaches stability in this launch version...might not.  As they say $h!t happens ;).  )

Nice to see some cooler heads commenting on this stuff lately.... It's a relief.

Any word on when MSI will post 1.40 darkhawk?

No time for that now, but when I saw no changelogs ..  it piqued my curiosity and think perhaps try a hex diff or a firmware extractor to see what has changed, uhuhu. .:bonk:

I'm not sure. I've asked why it isn't posted yet, so we will see.

We are not allowed to post any BIOS notes, so please do not expect any.
At this point, all I can say is be happy we can post them here now. :)

Why we will try new beta bios if we don't know what they are supposed to fix or improved, when BIOS flash can damage or brick your MoBo ?

Then don't.

No one said you NEED to try them.

We are posting them as a service. We have been told we cannot provide BIOS notes.

Any news for official 1.4 ?
My guess is that they are still doing testing / looking at the people running 1.43 BETA and collecting data.  I would imagine, if it's not up already... They are either waiting for AMD or they are working on a bug.  The 1.3 Stable release was atrocious... The earlier BETA versions being more stable and less issues.   Here's to hoping that their next stable release is the one I can migrate away from 1.32 BETA for.  It's pretty good, but I would rather be running a release that doesn't boot loop on power on.

At this point, I'd be quite happy with 2933. Certainly beats 2133 or 2400. It's still higher than the guaranteed speeds from AMD.

I personally just cannot fathom why everyone thinks that they should magically be able to hit 3200 MHz or higher on a brand new generation (Actually, not even generation, it's a whole new chip from the ground up) of CPU's. New memory controller, as AMD has never worked with DDR4 before.

After having dealt very heavily with the debacle surrounding Intel and DDR4 and their Skylake/Kaby Lake platforms, it really is heavily dependent on the CPU.

And that doesn't even take into account the restrictions AMD has still imposed at this point.....

I'm there with you on all of that.  He managed 2933 and is pretty happy.  I got lucky, on identical hardware It has to be variances in the Motherboard or Silicon Lottery of his CPU.  The only repetitive issue I am still seeing is the boot cycling on power up.  I have no idea what is causing it.  I have to power the system down when it restarts, and then pray that immediately rebooting clears the issue.  Very odd.  Was happening on pretty much all revisions of the BIOS.  I have benched and stress tested the board in Real bench and the CPU-Z utilities and the system is utterly stable once I'm up and running.  It's been running rock solid all day.

I am wondering where the HPET settings ate.  They've not been in the BIOS since 1.15 BETA as far as I can recall.  Not sure what's up with that.  Disabling it grants you roughly 10% more performance.  Still, to have the luck I have had on a Tomahawk and not needing to purchase a 300 dollar board, I'me very happy.

HPET I think was removed because without it there were enough issues and strange oddities regarding it.
My understanding is that those 'gains' you end up seeing are 'fake' and of course AMD wants people to disable to get those 'fake' gains.

The Windows Power Plan and applications can choose to use HPET or not, just because it's enabled doesn't mean that it will get used.

See : http://www.overclock.net/t/1567745/windows-10-disable-hpet-before-install-and-enjoy-low-latencies#post_24253745

Basically, disabling HPET is a misnomer for Windows 10. For Windows 7 and Windows 8, it may help to disable it.

But at this point, I would really hope if you're using a newer Intel (Skylake/KabyLake) or AMD (Ryzen), you're using Windows 10.

New B350 TOMAHAWK BIOS

7A34v15

- Improved memory compatibility.
- Fixed PCIe Hot-plug function issue.

It's just the released version of 1.51 from what I remember. ;)

We never saw the 1.51 beta.

Flashed 1.5, seams all good (didn't benched yet). Some new titles on Advanced Memory Settings, but no settings to set.
Memory still @2933 ,

And this thread was started almost a month ago.....so it's not surprising that it might contain old information.

aevansjr35 asked today if there is a new beta bios and you said "If there were any new betas, it would be posted here" and then you said "And this thread was started almost a month ago.....so it's not surprising that it might contain old information."

so is it the right thing to lock into this thread if you want a new beta bios ? no, it's not because there is a new one 1.61 and it's not listet there...not even 1.51 was.

I didn't bother posting them because 1.51 came out the same day 1.50 came out (1.51 = beta, 1.50 = released version of 1.51)

There's no point in posting a BETA when the released version has come out.

And if you want to argue with me, I can just forget to post the next Tomahawk BIOS when it comes out too? It's not like there isn't 15 other BIOS's to go through, on top of keeping track of all the issues and other things on the forums.....
Keeping track of the BIOS's can take upwards of an hour alone some days. And keep in mind I'm not an MSI employee, so it's not like I'm getting paid to do it either. ;)

There's a reason you found it here first, and everyone else is finding it here.....
We don't delay posting it. As soon as it's available to us, we post it. Keep this in mind. As soon as other BIOS's for other boards are available, they will be posted. Just gotta give it time.

Well, some thing is wrong or AMD forgot to name the new AGESA again, or this is not AGESA 1.0.0.6 but 1.0.0.4a.

AIDA and HWiNFO says 1.0.0.4a

Hi

I trust you.

I know there is a lot of changes on this release, not only memory support, but Microcode and AGESA (some modules) are the same, but it is irrelevant, the important is the improvement over previous releases especially over 1.61 with only few days difference  between them... as you can see on my SS my memory is running  @ 3066MHz 1.35V for a 2133MHz value ram it is great.

Anyone with m.2 pci-e drives try the 1.62 BIOS. 1.5 has been flaky with drive disappearing on reboot, and I'm only upgrading if there is actually an improvement.
