1080 TI Golden Edition?
« on: 20-May-17, 02:55:06 »

Does anyone know if there is going to be a gtx1080ti golden edition?

Hello, I'm new to  the forum, and to MSI as a whole I guess. The reviews of the Asus 970s scared me into getting an MSI Golden edition 970. Then Asus' customer service pushed me away from the company as a whole when they wouldn't go good for a $600 motherboard, so I am hear to stay! Anyways I really like the copper color of my golden edition and wanted to get a 1080 TI in it as well but I haven't heard or found anything about the 1080ti in gold.
Please help and thank you for your time!!

No, the time of Golden Editions is so far over and ended with GTX 9xx series. Unlikely that MSI will make another as it doesn't fit in MSI's current vga setup. You can suggest it to MSI if you like: >>How to contact MSI.<<

Ok thank you! In theory couldn't I switch the cooling system from the 970 to the 1080ti? It would void the warranty, but it would look like a golden and use the copper heat pipes and such, correct? I doubt I would have the balls to do it but... ok so second part of the question then. Which model card is the "best"? Thank you again!

No way! The cooler  does not fit physically and is far far too weak for a 1080ti.
