MSI z68-GD55 ( G3 ) BIOS update error
« on: 09-October-17, 16:45:33 »

Hi.

Im trying to update my bios from V23.7 (n.70 ) to ( E7681vP8 )
I have tryed just using the .exe file on a usb nothing happens after restart.

Then i found out that im suposed to use MSIHQ USB Bootable Tool and BIOS Helper.

well i have used it like the guide said and first cleaned the USb and then pointed to E7681vP8.zip
and let the program do it's thing.
then i restart and go into bootmenu if i try to M-flash it's say theres no BIOS file

so i change the boot order and put my USB stick first and reboot.
when i reboot it starts the USB stick and i have 3 options.

Update.

memtest.  ( Did this the first time took forever so i whent to bed i hade runned for 4.5 Hours and completed
with out any errors.

older BIOS.

When i then try to Update BIOS it starts but immediately say execution halted and count down from 5 or something then goes to Flash completed with a rat face or somthing but when i then select reboots. i take 5-6 trys then it starts and i go into the BIOS and it is still the old BIOS.

I have tryed this 10 times and even done a Cmos (even removed the battery) stil not working.

I think i need to upgrade my bios because i have a new
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X and i get a B2 at start and ican't install Drivers for it because of the B2 at reboot i think.
Im real sorry for my broken english.

The latest ever bios for your board is 25.9 beta 3 (.P93). It should be the one to use. You can directly update to it with the below (note that you must use the archive attached):

1.)
A.) Download the attached (!) archive and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress.
B.) Download and install the >>the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
C.) Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick.
D.) Make sure the legacy USB is enabled.
E.) Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive.
F.) Boot to the USB and follow the directions. MEMTEST is included with the forum flash tool and it is recommended to run this prior to any flash.

2.)
Once the flash is complete, you must download and install the latest ME drivers:

What is that? Open your own thread and don't hijack another. You don't even have the same board!
