Can anyone please help me with the Windows 7.1 virtual surround driver for the DS502 gaming headset. When I plug the headset in, or install any of the drivers that I have found on the MSI website, it only allows the headset to be configured as stereo. I wish to change the speaker setup to 7.1 surround using the windows playback devices setting (so that games can use the virtual surround sound). I am specifically looking for Windows 10 64 bit drivers.

The drivers at https://www.msi.com/product/multimedia/support/DS502-GAMING-Headset.html#down-driver do not seem to have the 7.1 drivers. Neither is it on the CD that came with the headset.

In the Quick Guide, I only get this vague statement:
Quote
Note: By default, the MSI DS502 GAMING HEADSET works out of the box as a 2.0 (stereo) headset. To achieve 7.1 surround sounds, please install the necessary drivers to set up virtual 7.1 surround sound.

What are the necessary drivers that this guide refers to?

Any help will be appreciated.

Install the  utility. Under Speaker, there should be an option for 7.1 emulation.

Sorry for reviving this old thread but those who own DS502 might still be looking for help.

The utility app to which Nidhoggr provided a link will not allow you to emulate the 7.1 virtual sound.
It also won't allow you to use the manual settings for the headphones (The icon for manual settings will be there but you won't be able to click it).

To make everything work as it should on Windows 10 you need to use the mini cd that was provided with the headphones.

It's sad to see that the support for these headphones is so poor.

You installed the driver AND the utility from the support site? The software on the CD should be the same, although I don't own the headset in question.

Maybe the other user can help you, since they resolve their issue, otherwise call MSI support.
