Hello,
I'm having issues getting the BIOS updated to recognize CPU and Video Card.  I've followed through the instructions and it shows that it Updated Successfully, however it still have the old BIOS listed.

Motherboard:  MSI P67A-GD65 (B3)
Current BIOS:  1.19  (trying to update to 4.3)

Right now I'm able to boot with i7-2600k and old video card but if I put in new video card (RX 480), it boot but doesn't display anything.

I went through the process of using this MSI Flashing Tool and got to the part where it says its updating
I did notice during the process, atone point it says
 - "Execution Halted, Resume in: ... seconds
 - BIOS Integrity check passed
 - Validation ID: xxxxxxxx
 - BIOS Flash Engaged
 - DO NOT POWER OFF ...
 - Stand by ...
 - Then says successful and to reboot
 - at this point, I turned it off .. unplug power cable, clear CMOS using jumper, re-plug power back on and it still shows 1.19

Any ideas why its BIOS isn't updating?

Edit:  I finally got it updated after finding another thread about using FPT .. copy files to usb stick with FreeDOS and bios file and successfully updated BIOS.  Finally showing the 4.3 version and now its able to boot with RX 480 video card and i7 3770K ... unfortunately my Win10 wont recognizing any of my usb keyboards, since I probably have to reinstall the mobo chipset drivers.  Hopefully a PS2 keyboard will work to allow me to login to update.

Open an own thread about your issue. It is no Forum flash tool specific issue.

from what bios version to what you are trying to flash?
if you are flashing to a different BIOS base,
then you need to use a special prepared bios archive.

you can see the utils for your board at:
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B250M-PRO-VDH#down-driver&Win10%2064

based on what you mention, probably Command Center is the one that you are looking for

@ Svet (or anyone who can answer this :) )

Hi there,

I'm an owner of a Z270 M5 Gaming board (running on 7A78v16 bios) and all is good with the board (and I know the saying, if it ain't broken, don't fix it ;-)) )
But because of Intel's latest ME security vulnerabilities, don't wanna take any chances and now wanna flash to the new bios (7A78v18) that just came out and addresses that specific issue.

Thing is, I'm wondering which tool to use for the flashing process:  Some posts mentioned that using HQ USB flashing tool did not update the ME firmware, while other posts are mentioning the opposite, that the m-flash tool won't update ME's firmware.

I've used the HQ USB tool with my Z77 Mpower board in the past and each time, the flashing process was painless and flawless.
But considering that the latest version of HQ USB tool is (I think) 1.28j, which was out in 2016 (so basically before my board even existed), should I still use this tool ?
Or am I better off using M-Flash ?

What exactly is the difference in the flashing process between those 2 tools ?  And are they both supposed to update ME's firmware without any issues ?

Thanks!

Done with M-Flash, all went well, including ME's firmware update.

Thanks for your quick reply Svet!
