I noticed when I try to shut down the pc windows will reload. It skips the bios and just reloads it's self when trying to shut down. Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

Hey,

I just switched to the latest version of Win10 ( Fall Creators ), and I had several issues :
* The boot couldn't find the drive :(
* When waking up from standby mode, the computer would normally wake up, but not the screen :(
* And shutting it down would return to the normal launch flow :(

I switched my boot disk to UEFI mode using the mbr2gpt command, swith in the BIOS the boot mode to UEFI, and it fixed two of my issues.

I still have the wake up issue, but at least, I can shut my laptop down !

Hope it helps,

Emmanuel

Windows updates seem to cause problems for some users.
Here are a few links that might help.

https://www.tenforums.com/general-support/26042-laptop-wont-shut-down-after-windows-10-upgrade.html
https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/help-my-pc-with-windows-10-wont-shut-down-properly/
https://superuser.com/questions/1006535/windows-10-wont-shutdown-returns-to-desktop-but-reboot-works-fine

In order of simplicity, the solutions are disable fast startup (if enabled), Control Panel > Troubleshooting > System & Security > Fix problems with Windows update and a few more.
Hopfully, one of these will help.
