Hi. First i would like to apologize if my english is so bad.

My Nahimic audio tools won't open after I update my windows 10 to anniversary version.:undecided:

And also i found that the sound is producing some noises and the quality is declining like if you heard an mp3 sound quality bit rates at 96 kbit/s.

I haven't got a chance to re-install the driver and its software but maybe someone here from MSI might wanna check it out and roll the new update.

Thank you.:hypocrite:

Try by uninstalling Nahimic and audio drivers and then reinstall installing audio drivers first and next install Nahimic, it must be done in that order.

I have the same problem with the X99A Gaming Pro Carbon.
Re-installing the drivers and Nahimic (uninstall Nahimic, then drivers, then install drivers, then Nahimic) fixes the weird audio sound, but now Nahimic crashes upon launching the GUI

Guys,

it seems MSI are a bit slow to update the driver section of their website, so go to NAhimic on FB to get the latest (and fastest) updates.

Hello,

How do I fix Nahimic 2, it crashes in Windows 10 for me also. Someone mentioned you have to uninstall all of your audio drivers, reinstall the same audio drivers and then install Nahimic 2.

Here's my problem, I don't know exactly which drivers to uninstall? Do I go to Device manager - Audio Inputs and outputs and uninstall everything listed there or should I go to Device Manager - Sound, video, and game controllers and delete everything related to audio in that drop-down list?

Than you.

Oh my god I was freaking OUT because I just got this computer yesterday (GE72) and the sound randomly started sounding TERRIBLE. I even completely reset my entire computer and almost cried when it finished and the sound was STILL terrible. I could have saved myself so much trouble just coming here. Updating realtek and upgrading to the newest version of Nahimic fixed EVERYTHING! Thank you to everyone who offered help in this thread! Yay! Now I can stop shaking lol.

My sound/speakers became very distorted too after the Win10 Anniversary update. Did some research. Followed proper procedure, uninstalled both the realtek and nahimic drivers and re-installed them. The distortion went away. But the sound still sounds supressed and the volume is lower than it was before. I went to MSI and compared the sound to another laptop and YES, the sound in mine does seem low and supressed. I have the latest audio drivers installed. What do I do now??

I've had the same problem. Everything is OK after update directly from MSI DATABASE DRIVER. My laptop is MSI GT73VR. Install driver then nahimic 2. this driver version already contains the uninstall the previous version program.

I also had this problem. Went to MSI website and downloaded MSI Live Update utility. After running the scan I was able to download the updates for all drivers and software, now have no issues.

Hope this helps, as I was a little nervous seeing how I just installed my new Z170 Gaming Pro Carbon on Tuesday...luckily it was just a driver issue and not user installation error.

Be careful with msi live update utility. Make sure you check each individual driver update to make sure it has been  detected correctly and at the right driver version. I had some problems before with it so now I'm gonna focus on future updates in this way.

I wanted to share some information with you folks regarding Nahimic, Win10 and two problems I've found and corrected just recently. Although it is still a beta program Armored Warfare with not load with either Nahimic or the Realtek Audio driver which Win10 setup in the latest update this week.. Turning them off in the win 10 start eliminates these two for the game, as well as, 3dmark which is finally able to test my new build. I attempted to utilize the latest drivers and had no luck. It is easier for me to start the Nahimic software when I want to use its features.

After so many years on my trusted Z87-G45MB which passed away recently, got me a new Z270 M7 Gaming MB & using my loved Razer Leviathan soundbar to be shocked to find out that there do not support 5.1 optical or S/PDIF. All drivers are the latest as per Nahimic webpage. Is there any other options I can use to replace this driver instead of having to stick to it?
Can some guru pls advise?

To be perfectly honest with you, I've never cared personally for the included sound cards on PC's. If it's a PC I care about (like my gaming PC), I'll buy a discrete sound card that provides better output options.

I also prefer having a card that can up convert to dolby digital. Pretty much all built in cards do not have this ability.
The only way to really get this is to get a discrete sound card that does support dolby digital up-converting.

Why do *I* want upconverting? I do, because I want everything to come out in 5.1/7.1 sound. Even my windows sounds, etc....
By having the upconverting, even the Windows sounds come out as 5.1/7.1 because the sound card will upconvert the sounds to the proper signals for my speakers. (As a side note, I have some very old Logitech Z5500 which support multiple inputs and SPDIF/optical) This meant my speakers never made sounds when switching from 2 channel to 4channel to 5.1 channel sounds (which happens if you can't upconvert) and was consistently outputting sound properly.

If you can't upconvert, the audio output will only output the same as the source audio. So if you have a stereo music file that you're playing, it'll come out as stereo (assuming you don't use mods to make it output to multiple channels, etc...). Same with games, etc....

Personally, I use an Asus Xonar U1 for my laptop and an older Asus Xonar board for my PC.

Ok guys a quick update.
I got help from the folks from Nahimic & seemed like what they suggested to me worked.
Basically, uninstall current Realtek & the Nahimic drivers & reboot.
Then reinstall this Realtek version:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4y1k8nwyiefxyub/8233_FF03_PG463_Win10_TH_RS1_RS2_Win8.1_Win8_Win7_WHQL.zip?dl=0
and reboot again
After that install the Nahimic 2 driver:
https://s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/nahimic/Nahimic+2.5.19.exe
and reboot again.

Problem solved for me in S/PDIF. No more cracking noises, bass is nice & tight now.
Hope this can be helpful to those who need it.
Tks to the helpful folks in Nahimic:biggthumbsup:

Latest update on these drivers:
I realised a short while ago that my Razer Leviathan went MONO on me.
I was worried if it was my hardware that went kapoot or was it another problem with the drivers. Namely Nahimic & Realtek?
I uplugged my optical cable & replugged. No difference still mono.
I decided to look at my nahimic mgr to realise that device properties shows blank

I then decided to uninstall nahimic & realtek to run my system on default MS Digital Audio
Everything is working fine, normal & actually sounds livelier. Weird

As a result, I hv decided that I am not going to reinstall realtek & nahimic.
As I am typing this, I'm still running on default MS audio device.
I hv also shared with Nahimic on this prob & my course of action in FB & informed them that I will not be using their driver ANYMORE n will stick to this default device + sharing this info in this forum with link posted to them.

As a MSI gaming MB user for years & years, I feel compelled to share to the global community of this problem that seems to be posted everywhere.

Hv fun ya'll

Nahimic is something I personally avoid. Got in my motherboard, so I use dedicated sound card which I bought 2 years ago, also got it in my notebook, so I use Asus Xonar U3. Problem solved for me :)

I can't even install it even with the most recent drivers from realtek, Nahimic won't even install on my X370 gaming plus. Even though the website for this board says it is supported.

Seems your model is not compatible, look the driver download: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X370-GAMING-PLUS

I'm also having all sorts of problems with Nahimic and Windows, it doesn't matter which version, which driver, nahimic only stays on the system tray, if I try to open it, it never shows up, I already installed in every order, support only told me to format my PC, they weren't of any help. the worst is that I can't even use the Realtek control panel, i'm really hating this experience with MSI.
My board is the Tomahawk Arctic B350

Same problem here on my X370 XPower Titanium, Nahimic is dead and no Realtek control panel anywhere, tried countless of different drivers & clean installs of Windows. Only solution is to buy an external sound card

After I updated to the newest version, windows asks permission to start Nahimic on start up. It used to work fine before.
