Title: windpad 110w ram upgrade to 8gb
Post by: zerothree03 on 23-October-13, 04:08:02
I recently upgraded to windows 8.1 and upgraded my tablet with a 62 gb ssd hard drive with no issues.  I then installed a pny 8gb ddr3 pc3 12800 memory chip and my computer has gone through a series of blue screen failures.  It has booted twice with the 8gb memory stick installed, but eventually shutdowns with a bsod and goes back into the reboot cycle of trying to solve the issue. My question is did I buy the wrong memory stick since its a pc3 12800? It says its compatible with the 1600mhz, 1333mhz and 1066 mhz.  Please let me know if anyone has any solutions.

So it just booted up,  then crashed with the error irql_not_less_or_equal.

I have 8GB on mine and it boots ok.  Do you have the latest (but still a bit aged) bios?

This can be the compatibility issue of the memory module, if the memory works fine on other units.
This is why you should ask for the tested memory module before buying the memory and do the upgrade.

The AMD APU only supports a max of 4 GB of ram, dont go more than that its a waste of money
