Title: overheating gp73 CPU
Post by: dragnetbl on 08-January-19, 17:07:36
Hello,

I have problem whit overheating cpu.
To test temparatures i use msi after burner.

When i play cs:go, cpu temp are going up to 95C, but CPU usage is only about 25%
Fans are working all time, but temparatures are so high.

The thermal paste probably not working properly. I would suggest re pasting cpu/gpu. Try not to keep those high temps going or you can cause damage. Also open the back of your laptop do a cleaning for dust as an alternative but re pasting still needed.

Does this only happen when you're playing cs:go or it also happens when playing other games?
Any lags or freezing happens when the temp reaches 95 degrees?
Try using HWinfo (https://www.hwinfo.com/) to monitor the temperature, save the log file and attach it here (along with your system information file exported from MSI help desk).

Some games are CPU  heavy ... Some games are GPU heavy.
Does this temp issue occur with other games?
Also, adjust the fan curve in Dragon Center to something more aggressive.

Check Dragon Center and see if it is set to Turbo Mode.
Change to Sport and Advanced for fan speed control.
Make you fan speed ramp a bit more aggressive.
