Title: Banned from forums?
Post by: FatBoyNL on 07-April-19, 13:10:22
I'm getting this error when trying to login to these forums on my PC:
"An error has occurred. Sorry Guest, you are banned from using this forum! Spam. Multi acc. This ban is set not to expire."

But I don't spam and do not use multiple accounts. Could anybody please help me with this?
I'm using Chrome browser.

Clear your browser cache and retry.

It has just happened again!
Clearing chrome browser cache doesn't help now 😫

None of IPs used by you are banned, that's all I can tell.

I know this will sound like a horrible advice but try a different browser if clearing cookies/cache does not work. Edge is preinstalled on all windows 10 so you would not even need to install anything extra. ^^ Or try to clear cookies/cache again (in firefox it's possible to clear only those related to a particular site, which is what I did and worked for me - not sure what the options in chrome are).

The error keeps coming back after deleting cache. The same error is also shown in Edge and IE btw.
Today my account was banned at home immediately AFTER logging in: "Sorry FatBoyNL...." instead of "Sorry Guest...". After that one time, only "Sorry Guest.." in all of my browsers.

Interesting... I just noticed the NL in your nick: do you live in the netherlands? So do I... and I too got this error few days ago (since then it did not come back for me tho). Any chance you are also with ziggo...?

Yep, Ziggo is my provider as well. Got 2 new IP addresses last month (in a build-up to the announced speed upgrade I reckon). Hope I'll get a new IP address this week along with the speed upgrade.
I suspected Google as well, but Edge and IE not working? Strange.

EDIT: but it's not the IP address either as incognito mode seems to work fine.
EDIT2: nope, locked out after page refresh..

Now it happens on my phone connected to 4G+ as well. Since yesterday, that is.
But I'm still able to login and reply to this thread when I sign in at MSi Forums from my PC at work. I guess that will stop working as well in a few days... Sigh.
EDIT: Now it works again using 4G after rebooting my phone... I'm going nuts.

I'm sorry that I wasn't clear. I still can't use the MSi forums properly.
I just tried to confirm I'm able login from any device anywhere (also mobile-4G, work, etc.), except when connected to my LAN at home...
It MUST have to do with the IP address or IP range.  Typing this at work.

Guess what? I'm able to login properly from my home network! :pompom:

IP address hasn't changed on my side. My cable provider had suggested to power off my modem for 24+ hours in order to try and get a new IP address, but I couldn't find any time for that.

Hope it sticks this time. I'm even afraid to hit the 'Post' button and for every F5 after that. Becoming a bit paranoid lol

I've checked for your issue yesterday
And Disabled a ban matched to your description [ Spam. Multi acc.]
but not related to your IP.
+
checked you with the spam system and your acc. turning in red immediately,
means its flagged by the spam system and always blocks you.
I override it and approve your login, to do not chase you again in the future

So I'm hoping either of them or both to have some effect over your issue.

However, I see your IP is flagged as spam generally to the world database:
https://www.stopforumspam.com/ipcheck/185.108.224.4 (https://www.stopforumspam.com/ipcheck/185.108.224.4)
best request a removal from there,
else you will have the same problems on a different forums too,
soon or later.

Ehm, bro… I didn't see anything about cracked stuff not being allowed. Besides, what's so bad about that anyways?

Lets see:

Don’t…

...

- Ask for help on shady or illegal activities such as password hacking, software piracy.

Ah, it's piracy...

Don't question moderator decisions next timeplease and don't try discussing cracked software again.

I didn't see that. What is wrong with questioning a moderator? Isn't a forum meant for asking questions? I suppose I can understand not wanting people sharing cracked pro versions of programs but it is in the 'Anything Under The Sun' area...

It's kinda funny that we're talking about this in a topic on getting banned and I'm probably going to be banned from talking in this topic.  ;D

That's not very smart... what if you purchase another msi product in the future or someone at your ip address? I would not want to use a program for it for forever, even if it's a legit one... You can just google what is my ip or go to sth like https://whatismyipaddress.com/ (https://whatismyipaddress.com/) To verify >.> But well, you asked for it already  :)
