Title: 3-monitor Quadro based laptop
Post by: ray on 11-July-19, 18:19:45
Hi, All: I'm looking for an MSI workstation that will support 3 additional monitors, plus the laptop display. (The Barco below accepts 2 video inputs so that the single monitor actually acts as TWO separate monitors.)
I have a very specific monitor setup, that includes a Barco Coronis Fusion 6MP unit, which has 2 DVI-D or 2 DP ports on the back.
I'm looking at the new 9th gen Intel laptops with Quadros, but none seem to have enough video ports to handle this. There's one HDMI, and USB3-1, but I need to be sure I'm going to be able to drive this monitor.
Any suggestions??

Hi Ray,
I wanted the same setup in 4K with my computer. I bought a Vortex W25-8SM - 2 HDMI, plus 1 Thunderbolt 3 ports.
HDMI works fine but the 4K output via TB3 doesn't work.

I have now spent 4 months with MSI support, Nvidia support and Acer support.
It's now a long story, but I have tested the monitor on other computers, tried all the Nvidia drivers available, Nvidia is "checking with Engineering" - and not replying anymore.
MSI is "checking with Engineering" and haven't replied for over 2 weeks now. (you might sense I'm not overly happy about it!)

So what can I say. I think it's probably better to go to a desktop to find the solution. (with the >really< high $ Quadro card)
I think it can be done for not much over the $6K spent on the Vortex.
Any 370 motherboard and the Quadro card. Might not need to be MSI either.

Good luck with it.
