Title: New purchase today. Battery/A/C-charge LED does not illuminate.
Post by: calypsoart on 21-July-19, 05:58:01
I purchased a GS75 Stealth today at Best Buy.  However, after plugining it in the LED for battery/charge does not light. Am I missing something, or do I need to return it?

i have raider and my bat led does not light plugged in or unplugged, it only lights when charging

wifi light is on cuz im on wifi and hard drive light is blinking from hdd activity

i dont have steelseries engine or scm installed

if your getting none of those lights at all then try updating bios and ec firmware and resetting ec.

otherwise exchange it

====================================

make sure you check everything on the laptop in the first week and exchange it if anything is wrong

check every port and check the screen to see how bad the backlight bleed is, and benchmark it etc...

this bench might require an external display to bench the nvidia gpu

personally i would do a clean install of windows and drivers too

on for battery use and slow blinking for charging would have been more intuitive

the lights on the raider and apache are facing downwards and almost impossible to see, basically useless

"Battery LED goes out when it is fully charged or when the AC/DC adapter is disconnected."

AC is currently disconnected. No LED. I'm going to let the battery drain to see if it light amber as in the manual. If not then I assume that mean the light is dead and I'll return the machine.

I haven't delved deeply into the machine quite yet, but there is a lot of stuff on it that I don't want. Assuming I was to do a clean Windows install, is there any other specific software that came on  the machine--other than SteelSeries 3--I should put back?

All drives, firmware and apps that are in the MSI Driver & App Center.

Ok. Ran the battery down to 10%. No Amber LED as the manual states. When I plugged in the A/C at that batterly level, it did come on. I'm running the MSI battery calibration now to what that does.

Return it for a refund or exchange....
Don't do a repair on this, it will be a problem later on even if they managed to fix it.
