1 long beep 3 short beep issues whenever i turn my pc on. a little help please?

Okay, 2 months ago i brought a motherboard from newegg which was a new condition. And 5-6 days ago when i turn on PC, i faced an issues about beeping on motherboards through speaker.

It indicates 1 long beep and 3 short beep. I checked on some internet says graphics card is not detecting, or its failing to display or video memory problem. (Is it on dedicated graphics memory).

When i try to remove cmos battery for like 5 minutes and put it back in, it works with only a single beep and boots to windows normally.

One night I turned my pc off and went to sleep, in next morning then here comes the problem again, 1 long 3 short beeps then i try to remove cmos for 5 mins then it doesnt post on bios screen anymore. It stays black and monitor led blinks. It's been 5 days im having these issues. Like whenever i do clearing cmos and put it back then it works again. Repeatedly, periods

I even trid to clear cmos jumper on motherboard, doesnt refresh bios at all.

*when integrated graphics is enabled it works perfectly. if disabled some day it gives "1 long and 3 beeps" issues.*

GA-B85M-DS3H-A
MSI GTX 1060 6Gb gaming X
16GB or ram (Adata and billionair reservoir)
Antec hcg 520 psu

Hi, My card is alive; maybe they didn't understand because the GTX 1060 had misleading behavior.

well, its kind of weird.

First, when the GTX 1060 HDMI is plugged into the monitor (1x8 pins connected), the BIOS doesn't display, which persists with 1 long beep and 3 short beeps again.

Second, if I pull out a 1x8-pin PCI cord and plug it into the motherboard's HDMI port to monitor (with an HDMI to VGA converter), it gives only a single beep and displays bios then boots to windows normally.

third, when using onboard graphics for 5 minutes, i had to shut down pc then swap the hdmi cable to the monitor and the 1x8 pin connector to the gpu. boom it worked. (maybe it was recognized issues) and ofcourse integrated graphics memory enabled on bios. (when disabled, it beeps again).

Some hours later, I had to shut down, and here I go with 1 long beep and 3 short beep comes back.

So what do you make of those issues?

1. power supply 2. motherboard

I think motherboards pci is the blame or maybe bios rom cant detect the dedicated cards memory or something.

Could be a bad power connection

Perhaps keep the IGPU enabled

Also, make sure the Bios GPU setting is set to PEG and not IGD

I was getting beep-coded like this for a few years on-and-off. I always fixed it by re-seating the graphics card. Sometimes I'd have to adjust the angle it was sitting at until it was happy. But like you, I'd wake up one day and it would be back to the beeping... for no apparent reason.
It went on like this for a few years before I upgraded to a different PC.
The old PC is still here as a backup, and when I tried to use it a few months back, the situation was much worse, to the point where I couldn't seat the graphics card any which way to get it to boot. Out of desperation, I cleaned inside the motherboard's PCI ports. And to my amazement... the thing boots perfectly every time now. Typically if I left it unused for weeks, I'd be guaranteed a beepy non-boot on my return... but it's totally fine now.

The thing about it is... this problem didn't show up until the motherboard was maybe 6+ years old, and it got progressively more fussy over time. I guess the issue of dirt or oxidation in the PCI slots didn't occur to me until I started taking more of an interest in electronics.
In your case, you're using a 4th gen Intel... which is also old... so I'm wondering if maybe this is the same issue. Even if the motherboard was kept sealed in its box all these years, could the contacts inside the PCI ports have become oxidized?

do you think this old system doing this itself?

not letting me use the graphics cards? you think motherboards are too weak to handle pci-ex? and motherboards aren't that strong today.

I'm not sure I understand your question exactly. But I wouldn't expect any inherent incompatibility with your graphics card, since that's pretty old too. It's from around the same era, and I've used newer cards than that on older motherboards than that. I've never heard of a motherboard that has a PCI-E x16 slot, that would intentionally reject graphics cards in general (but there's plenty I don't know).

no, it makes sense!! motherboard's small components (chip, capacitor) may have gotten old. everywhere in PCB's. M_BIOS and B_BIOS chips are corrupting itself.

maybe we shouldn't talk about this, I'm gonna think about new build. and yet i'm using integrated graphics.

Oh I get what you mean now. Yeah capacitors can go bad (some mid-2000's motherboards are famous for it). What I meant, was that I wouldn't expect that behavior by design.

even ten years from now, I wouldn't expect to buy a Z690-790 in 2029–2032.

I dunno, my 2nd PC here is from around 2011 and it's still working and useful. As the pace of improvement slows (the end of Moore's Law, etc.), and even old PCs have enough horsepower to do casual tasks, I think we'll probably see more of this. Most people have been moving with the times and upgrading every few years, but eventually we reach a point where a basic old PC far exceeds the horse-power needed for a lot of people. I think we're reaching a point where it actually makes sense to start solving age-related problems (capacitors & oxidation) and actually repairing things again, instead of just throwing them away. Your PC would be perfectly fine for slightly older games if you could get the card working. (I ran a similar spec up until recently)

Did you ever try cleaning the PCI ports?
I haven't advised you on a technique for cleaning these ports, because I'm not sure if what I did to clean mine was a terrible idea.

No, i didn't, because Pci Lane seems clean, i just checked. If you mean cleaning pci, then you mean pci lane cannot contact graphics card electronically. If that's what you meant to say, then I didn't. Because this board was purchased on March this year. It's not supposed to be happening since purchasing.

They stopped making that Motherboard back in 2016 so not new, may be new old stock or refurbished

I found repair service in my country and they're the largest tech repair company. description says "hardware malfunction" and "Graphics Problem motherboard repair" and "No Display issue motherboard repair"

should i go for it? or build a simple with using H470M + i3 10th +16GB ddr4 in a few days. (going for new build is kinda waste money for me, i don't know 14th gen mobo and cpu will cost under 300-400$ which is why repair is best option for me and it will only cost $15).

after repair I will change my mind when the 14th gens released. i'm thinking of repairing this motherboard so i can save up more money on the 14th gen.
