Hello

I was wondering if anytime knew the safey zone of overclocking a 1050 gtx msi 2gb card trying pull most i can but safe not blow card

Whats the limit on
Clock core and memory

Hi,

Please post a screenshot of GPU-Z.
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/gpu-z/

The Core clock can be overclocked anything from +150-200MHz, it all depends on silicon quality, room temperature and cooling.

If your GPU has Samsung memory it most properly can be maxed out with 1000MHz.

I have three GTX 1050's:
1. MSI GeForce GTX 1050 2G, Core +190MHz, Memory(Samsung) +1000MHz.
2. MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Gaming X 2G, Core +187MHz, Memory(Samsung) +1000MHz.
3. MSI GeForce GTX 1050 2G, Core +150MHz, Memory(Hynix) +300MHz.

I personally prefer to underclock all my graphics cards for daily use and only overclock to the maximum when I run benchmarks.

Ok, you need to enable the "Unlock Voltage Control" and "Unlock Voltage Monitoring". For best performance you can also set a custom fan curve.

Start with the settings here below and work your way up. I have rarely seen artifacts when an overclock is unstable, the screen usually just locks up for a few seconds before a crash notification appears on the screen. If Windows can't automatically recover the GPU you will need to do a hard reset.

Set the Core Voltage slider to maximum.
Set the Core clock slider to +100MHz.
Set the Memory Clock to +500MHz.

First try to reach the maximum stable overclock with the Core clock, then try to reach the maximum overclock for the memory clock. Please keep in mind that high ambient room temperatures will affect the stability of the overclock.

I prefer to use the Superposition benchmark to test if an overclock is stable.

Take a screenshot each time you successfully complete a benchmark run so you can compare which settings gives the best scores.

oh ok thanks for the info by far helped a lot!!!! Also say you have another 1050 GTX 2gb video card
are you able to run both cards in one system even tho they are not able to be SLI together?
I ran two screens and wondering if i got second card in my system if i would be able to do stuff on my second screen without getting out game
like i play a lot of American Trucks Sim and Euro truck and run company for game and it sucks having alt tab out game to make driver a custom job all the time and then go back into game non stop as im playing ?

I just keep the extra 1050's as spare backup cards.

You can use two cards, however when you play a game the game will still grab the focus of the mouse and keyboard so you will still need to Alt+Tab when you want use the other screen. Also if you don't have any games that use PhysX you will see zero improvement.

I have Hynix memory gtx 1050 2GB O2G gaming 1443/1911mhz core without oc , and get 2000mhz core clock maximum and +654mhz memory clock (Hynix version memory)
Fan speed 100% never go up 60c in game
