Hi,

I created an account just to post my problem here.
I just installed the new bitspower waterblock on my lightning Z.
It took me many hours to realize that the GPU goes to safe mode (stuck at 1350 MHZ) when the stock fans are not plugged in...
I tried both bioses, even the new LN2 bios... doesn't work.

To make it work, I had to remove the fans from the stock cooler and plug them in the PCB while having the waterblock on.
It's quite ridiculous...

It's a card built for LN2 overclocking... of course A LOT of people are gonna remove the stock cooler.

MSI can you please fix this quickly with a new vbios?

Thanks

Reading from other forums it seems this new vbios solves fan problem, that's great!

Not going to test it on my card just yet because you lose additional voltage controls that ln2 bios originally offers.

Hopefully another version is pushed out quickly :)

I asked MSI for a full LN2 vbios which is now available via pm request. RGB is still disabled with this beta vbios.

so the LN2 bios didn't fix the issue i was talking about which is the memory voltage sliders

i wonder if MSi is ever going to fix this , if not i won't wait long to sell the card and get a 2080ti Matrix

I asked MSI for looking into this specific issue if it can be duplicated. Still promoting other brands' products will not be tolerated here so please don't do that again.

MSI replied that memory voltage control is not supported for the RTX 2080 Ti Lightning. Memory voltage control not being implemented therefor has nothing to do with the vbios fix but is meant to not be available due to a hardware limitation.

They will consider to implement it again in further designs.

It might have been a glitch. According to vbios engineer it should not work. However I can ask again.

So these settings are shown by mistake?
