I've been wondering if this is possible on this board. I've found no official info on this on the board's MSI site. Also, would it still function in dual channel?

Yes, you shouldn't have an issue with 2x4GB(see below).  The RAM needs to be in the proper channels, 1 stick in channel A, and the other in channel B.  Of course you need a 64bit OS in order to use all the RAM.

    Supports Dual channel mode

Yeah, that was basically what I was asking, if i can mix 2x2 AND 2x4gb (i never doubted you could put 4GB modules in it).

You can try, but why do you need that much RAM.  Unless you do a lot of video rendering or Photoshop work AND are using a 64bit OS, you are wasting your money.

True, but with the prices of RAM today, it's not that big a deal. Quite frankly I was just wondering if someone done this already, i'm not into testing and then for it to turn out it doesn't work :p

Its not advisable to mix RAM like that, unless you are sure that the chips are of the same type and density. Instabilities may result and as you said yourself, with the price of RAM, its better to buy identical kits, ideally from the same batch.
The Integrated memory controllers seem to be a lot more finicky in terms of the memory utilised then previous generation  DDR and DDR2 systems.

In that case you will be wasting your money because the added RAM won't be used anyway. 2x2 GB is all you will need. Back to what Mike said.
