I tried adjusting a custom fan curve in MSI Afterburner for this GPU but was limited to the 30% to 100% fan speed limit.

Fans on the GPU runs pretty loud at this speed and is rather distracting. Any help would be apperciated.

Thanks!

Unfortunately no. I`ll wait a bit till the prices go down to get it back to the store.

btw...the official support said to me, that you can damage your card with a different fan modes, which I hardly believe its true, because they dont say how exactly how it can happen. Im not an expert, but I do believe that you can wear out your system faster by having temperatures that fluctuate up and down too fast, instead of having a constant smooth curve. The second problem, is that I HAVE to turn off my computer at night, and all the components suffer from this too....MSI is a bunch of evil people if you ask me, never to mention such important features in their cards specification.
I flashed with a vbios from a Ventus 2x and the fans were at very low speeds and inaudible, of course after starting Windows the screen went black, I managed to restore the original bios, and the fans were not damaged, they are still just as noisy. . I hope the low noise adapter works, my idea is as you mention, a gentle breeze all the time, because I don't like those sudden changes either.
And yes, I will not buy anything from msi again.

If you had AMD I could recombed a App to help but not sure for Nvidia try over at igor'sLAB I use More Power tools for mine it is a Soft Mod no V-Bios is written to but allows setting of fan speed etc.

Just note make sure you understand the Apps and know it will likely void warranty.

Try resetting in Afterburner, if that doesn't help, then try fixing it through the bios.

I have searched but there is no compatible vbios, I have only found a compatible one and it did not work, version 94.04.46.00.D2...

The one I have is the same as the one the guy who opened the thread, 94.04.6B.00.A0.
MSI Afterburner does absolutely nothing, I change the voltage, the fan values, but nothing works. graphics card is MSI Ventus 3x 3060 ti OC LHR

I think it's fixed now, I found this article:

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...ti-ventus-2x-ocv1-lhr-i-have-found-it.295918/

I installed the bios (Inno3D 94.04.6B.00.61) that they mention,

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/243909/243909

It's not verified, but I gave it a try, and it worked!!!

After restarting the pc, about 20 seconds passed, and an old version of nvidia was installed, 472.xx, I don't remember well, I deleted it with ddu and updated to the most recent version, it works without problems. I have not done stress tests, with the fans at 1200rpm at 30% the noise is a very slight breeze, they turn on at approximately 50°C and turn off at less than 35°C. If it works for anyone you can try at your own risk.

Excuse my English, im using Google translator.

Are you sure you are talking about Ventus 3X https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/msi-rtx-3060-ti-ventus-3x-oc-lhr.b9123 ? So, you just flash a bios from Ventus 2X model to 3X model and that worked?

Got my MSI RTX 3060 Ti VENTUS 3X OC LHR today and horrified by fan noise. This is total bs in comparison with my old Giga 1080. Don't know what to do, I'm in desperate, ready to return it.
Are all 3000 series cards have the same horrible fan curve?

If it arrived today and you can't stand it, return it, you will save yourself suffering and time, it seems that it only happens with this particular model.

Yes, I flashed a 3x with a 2 fan vbios, not the Ventus 2x, the bios I flashed was Inno3D Twin X2 OC LHR and it works, but in your case the warranty would apply.

Yeah, already issued a return.
Honestly, I'm shocked. I've Googled various top lists of 3060ti models, and VENTUS 3X OC is among them. And what I've get? This card is twice louder under average load (30-40%) than my current 1080 under heavy load (90%). This is unacceptable for me.

For the record: my card was produced in May, 2021, memory chips are Hynix, BIOS version is 94.04.6B.00.A0.

well thought of you

My return is completed. Got 3060Ti GAMING OC from Giga instead.
In comparison: where MSI VENTUS 3X sounds like a jet with 1800RPMs, Giga is quiet with 1200RPMs.
Fan Stop also works as intended (everywhere), not a driver software feature (works only after OS and drivers are started) like it was in MSI VENTUS 3X.

Well, added a rule for myself: never ever MSI again.
Thanks to all in this thread, except MSI.
