Hello, I am contacting you because there seems to be a major problem with the Lightning Hub software and its compatibility with the Lightning Z. I am completely unable to get the software to work, even after following all the recommendations (CENTER CLEANUP TOOL BY MSI, WIN REINSTALL, etc.). ), I saw that I was not the only one and even the testers explained in the videos that the software was not working. As a result, I paid €5,000 for no access to the tool that should be designed for the graphics card. The real problem is that once installed from the Microsoft Store, it opens a Microsoft Edge or Chrome page (I tested both) and loads indefinitely, with no hardware detection. I have everything up to date and have also already downloaded USB Display Driver ( and the card is connected in usb-c, the display is working in the msi center ).
Thank you in advance for your help.

The crash also happens both with portal x (which is lightning hub) and EZ display feature in Msi center to control the onboard LCD.

My CPU is the 9950x3d2 dual now.

Nice progress,Msi please fix this 🙏

Any update? It keeps happening at random times during the day and I need to restart the pc to get the lightning service.exe to work again. I know it has crashed by looking at the onboard lcd display on the GPU, it’s completely frozen at the last hardware monitor status.

Hi Pangolin,

I downloaded the new lightning service patched version that you provided and I am pleased to say that Now the onboard lcd screen no longer freezes. The issue completely went away! I have been testing for hours and no more lightning service.exe application error in event viewer. When it usually happens after just a few minutes to an hour so I am confident that this is now resolved with this new patch.

Thank you so much to you Pangolin and to the MSI team for this amazing update

Sincerely

I'm so tired, I'm fed up! I've tried every solution, including the third-party tools suggested with Multimonitor Tool. I think my screen is broken. Before, when I unplugged and plugged the PC's power supply back in, I at least got the Lightning Z animation. Now I only get backlight flashes when I plug in the cable. It lasts half a second, then the screen goes black. Even the animation that normally appears when the PC starts up doesn't work anymore... You're driving me crazy! Seriously, find me a solution! I almost smashed my screen. I've been testing different solutions for eight hours now. As for the quality of the USB-C cable that came with it, it's a disaster.
Why don't I even have the lightning animation anymore?

I found, it's really a joke...
Resetting lightning hub and installed patched version goes luminosity settings to ZERO!!!
So black screen....
Really fun yeah it's really bad software.

lol!
But does it work now? Bugs will be found. I encounter them even on "mature" products, not just MSI or computers in general.

The Lightning Hub app has been updated in the Microsoft Store 1.1.34.0 right now, the only thing that isn't working is the RGB animations section.

I fixed mine previous bug (screen not working) with AI assistance in 3 days. What's MSI's excuse? Maybe consider giving the dev team an AI subscription budget —seems to be more effective than whatever QA process you have.
