I apologize if I have this in the incorrect Forum.
I recently purchased an MSI Gaming Desktop PC Codex Z2, A8NVL-484US, (AMD Ryzen 7 8700F 16GB DDR5 2TB NVMe SSD GeForce RTX 5060 8 GB GDDR7). The Power Supply is a 650W 80+ Gold. I do not use this for Gaming but rather for everyday use. Outlook, Word, Excel, Chrome for the Internet, etc. The only hardware addition is a second 2TB NvMe.

I began thinking about the cost of running a 650W P/S twelve hours a day. While I am not stressing this Unit, I did begin to wonder just how much this is costing me to run.

Any input greatly appreciated. While I am supposed to be notified about replies, I have yet to have one come through so I'll be checking back.
Many thanks,
Lyman

it depends on the Load its requested to Draw so Impossible to say as we have no Idea also of the Electricity Cost in your area.

Base for that setup is with light use it will probably draw somewhere around 75W so 900W per day or 25.2KW per Month at worst like $30 a month

the PSU has very little to do with the Cost here its more just the Power Draw of the System Itself as the PSU will just deliver what the parts are asking for it does not always run at 600W and like I Said you will be averaging closer to 75W of actual Power to your PC.

Thank you very much! It's difficult to nail down the kWh cost because they factor in Distribution charges, fee for this, fee for that, etc.
Again, thank you very much. How do I mark your reply as the Accepted Answer?

Best,
Lyman

Many UPS's will show the actual electrical draw from the system, plus it will keep your system running if the power goes out.

there you Go Marked it as Solution for you.

you could get a UPS (there good to Have especially to Give you a Little Time to Save work and shut down Gracefully if the Power does not come back) or you can get a cheap plug socket power monitor (not the most Accurate thing in the world but good enougth to get a Idea how much power its pulling)

see what you mean by its Variable where you are but even at Peak Price it looks like yours is 35.56c per kWH so at 75W your talking like $9 a Month and a moderate load of lets say 160W $19 a Month and they are at Peak Prices. Lowest would be like $6 - $14 a Month best Guess here from me would be $7.50 to $16,50 a Month
