I have this new desktop, the audio is crappy (inconsistent, twisted, inaudible at all)

I have installed MSI-provided dvd audio driver,
and after that RealkTek latest driver,
after that MSI official site driver (latest)

None of them worked, the problem affects both speaker & headphone
Does this mean the onboard sound card is defected?

specs: windows 8.1, FX6300, 8gb ram, gt610

Thanks and I appreciate any incoming helps!

I'm thinking you may have got a faulty board.... Did you install the Creative Sound Blaster 2 Software?  I know my 970 Gaming MB sounds great, and I've tried both a low quality 2.1 Speaker set-up, and a decent 7.1 Logitech surround sound set-up.  Bot sets sounded great!

What connections have you tried? I'm guessing only the analog connections?
What versions of the driver did you install? Saying 'latest' one day could mean anything the next day.

Please be as precise as possible when explaining the problem, and we will have to spend less time asking more and more questions about it.

Exactly whihc 970 motherboard do you have?
