The latest BETA BIOS for 975X Platinum Power-Up Edition [MS-7246 v2.x] is W7246IMS.782 [v7.8b2].  I will upload it here, because it addresses a specific problem that occurs with v7.70 (official) when memory timings are manually set to CL4 values:

Changelog:

Fixed the Memory of "CAS Latency Time" couldn't be manually adjusted
anymore, the system will hang up at POST code 15.

The problem does not seem to occur with all memory modules and is not an issue with BIOS Versions prior to v7.6.

Flash and use this BIOS-File at your own risk!

7.8B2 doesn't work with the Windows Vista install, it gives an error about the board not being fully ACPI compliant. Reverting back to 7.54 corrects the error.

I had no problems with BIOS 7.8b2 and Vista.  Have you cleared CMOS with main A/C power cord removed from PSU after flashing and did you load Optimized Defaults when you restarted your system?

I had no problems with Vista itself, it was when I attempted to install it. I had cleared CMOS and loaded Optimized defaults, I didn't remove the power cord though.

Has this issue been looked into further? I tried again and the Vista installation still told me I had a board that wasn't ACPI capable, if I put an older Bios back on the problem is not there.

This only occurs with the Vista install, not when running an already installed Vista.

I didn't remove the power cord though.

The system has to be disconnected from A/C power, otherwise the CMOS Clear is ineffective.

This only occurs with the Vista install, not when running an already installed Vista.

I will test a Vista installation and see if I get the same error message.

At what point of the installation procedure do you get this error message?

Have you got an update? ;).

Vista is being installed as I speak. No APCI related errors so far.

/Edit:

Vista installation finished without problems.

Hmmm, I'll do another test and a proper CMOS clear.

I received the message when it attempts to load files from the disc, the grey loading bar.
