A few questions

See, the pad it too thick, because the paste smeared everywhere. So what thickness of thermal pad I need to buy then? My CPU temparature is much highet than GPU one (+10-12 degrees). Why is it so? When I use to have a video conference, youtube and google simutaneosly the cpu temp is about 73 and GPU 59. Is it bad? Thanks!
Try gaming with it, if the temps are under 95oC for the CPU and under 88oC for the GPU, you have nothing to worry about.
If those temperatures are exceeded, then you might want to look for someone that can assist you adequately, like MSI support.

As you see in this picture, these are the fail safes for your CPU.
Only options I got

CRITICAL TRIP POINT is the temperature your BIOS will shutdown your laptop, mine is set by default at 103oC.

TRIP POINT O/1 are simply temperatures that your fans will kick in if you leave your fans on silent, so that it doesn't heat up.
PASSIVE TRIP POINT is your PROCHOT value, that means your CPU will start to thermal throttle at that temperature.

As in this picture you have to make sure PL1 is at 65000 (65W) and PL2 is at 75000 (75W) for your i9-12900H.
You also see the "40" in brackets underneath it, this is the time that the TURBO will remain enabled, when the system requires the boost,
so if your temps still remain high when gaming, lower it one notch.
This is not a i9 it’s a i7

Hello drek4, I adjusted the values according to your list. Still, I have a superheater. see image.

Do you have another tip?

Greetings judge

But 96oC for an i9 13980HX, is normal if AAA gaming sessions, my i9 13950HX temps are 95-98oC with AAA gaming sessions, i9s run HOT!

Keep in mind this is a GUIDE not a written in stone MANUAL feel free to modify this if your laptop performs better with slight changes to these values.

GAMES: The Division 2, Control, Doom Eternal, Last of us Part1, Dying Light 2, Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
So as you can see the 1st picture is the monitor for all the other games that need as much CPU as GPU, the games that most of us use.
Keep in mind you only want to use these settings to be performing the best frame rates possible for your games and still be able to game without worries.
So for your i9 go for : CORE 0,1 46/46, CORE 2/3 45/45, CORE 4/5 44/44, CORE 6/7 43/43.
You want to set PL1/PL2 to 55/65, since you have an i9.
Lowering the PL1/PL2 will give more watts to the GPU, this is very important for a great visual quality.
Of course you want to set this for games that require as much CPU as GPU to perform well.

So for i7 13620H go for High Performance : CORE 0,1 46/46, CORE 2/3 45/45, CORE 4/5 44/44, CORE 6/7 43/43.
You want to set PL1/PL2 to 60/67.

So for i7 12700H go for High Performance : CORE 0,1 45/45, CORE 2/3 44/44, CORE 4/5 43/43, CORE 6/7 42/42.
You want to set PL1/PL2 to 55/65.

So for i7 10750H go for High Performance : CORE 0,1 46/46, CORE 2/3 45/45, CORE 4/5 44/44, CORE 6/7 43/43.
You want to set PL1/PL2 to 45/55.

So for i7 9750H go for High Performance : CORE 0,1 42/42, CORE 2/3 41/41, CORE 4/5 40/40, CORE 6/7 39/39.
You want to set PL1/PL2 to 40/50.

If you want settings for i7 8565U, i7 7700HQ, i7 6700HQ send me a message or reply to this post.
hi thank you for your tutorial. have you got the settings for 6700 hq and 8850 H ?

thx :)

Hello drek4, Where in the BIOS to set these values. I can't find it.
If you would have read the first link, you would have seen it is in ThrottleStop not the BIOS, you can download it in the second link!

https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/a-few-questions.387323/page-4

P.S. Read the link if you want to know how to use TS, reading is knowledge!

ThrottleStop I've set these values, it resets after a reboot. I'll try again.

Thank you.
If you read the link I provided...

Well let's start with the BIOS first.
As in this picture you have to make sure OVERCLOCK FEATURE IS ENABLED.
As stated previously, Advanced BIOS: Hold LEFT-ALT + RIGHT-CTRL + RIGHT-SHIFT, then press F2

As in this picture you have to make sure OVERCLOCKING LOCK is DISABLED.

Just like you wrote, that's what I did.
