Hi!
Just got my new MPG X670E CARBON WIFI motherboard and have a couple of questions.

I'm going to use it with Ryzen 9 7900X3D.
So, which BIOS version should I use?
7D70v174 or 7D70v172? Which is more stable for now?

Also, I'll use DDR-5 6000 RAM, 2x32GB. Which slots should I use for them, 1+3 or 2+4?

Thanks!

7D70v174 comes with AGESA 1.0.0.7a, which limits VSOC to 1.3v. I am using it and it is good, although it is still marked as beta.

Use slot 2 and slot 4 (2nd, 4th from the cpu socket). They should be marked as A2, B2 on the board.

Thanks for your answer!

Will 7D70v174 work okay with EXPO? I want to use it with my G.Skill Z5 6000-CL30 RAM but saw a couple of messages that EXPO has issues on 7D70v174.

Please let us know your boot time with EXPO enabled (cold boot, not restart). You can find the specific boot time when you open up task manager > startup > upper right hand corner

Ok.
I'll let you know a bit later when I'll finish my build.
I'm still waiting for some parts.

Depending on your build if you going to use PCIE3 you may what to use 176 instead found here it has some Fixes 174 does not have

Is it safe to use this version?
I'm not planning to use PCIE3 devices, the only PCI that I'll use is GPU.

But maybe should I install it anyway if it has more fixes?

Just built PC and installed 176 version of bios. I found an issue with the second SSD M2, my SSD is just not shown in the BIOS and Windows. Sometimes when I boot it shows fine, but almost always it not working.

I rollbacked to the 174 and the issue was fixed.

I have the same board and it has some weird m.2 issues. My 990 Pro would sometimes not get detected on boot in slot 2. Once I swapped it with my 980 Pro from slot 1, the issue disappeared.

Yep have noticed that Samsung drives especially the 900 and up have a problem getting detected sometimes more so than other brands

On both AMD pc's in my home (5900X), M2 boot drives would sometimes not appear OR dissappear when using it in Windows. They were Gen4 Aorus drives.
As soon as we swapped them both for 980's we never had that prob again

It's a known issue but I forgot what the solution was..I think it got something to do with the chipset driver, i'll take a look at it

When it's working, what is your boot time ? :)

Just here in bios set to AMD OC and use + or- keys to adjust
I have dropped mine to 1.200v and it seems to be OK
