A24 BIOS on the X870 Tomahawk, severe stuttering and BSOD.

After updating to the A24 version of the BIOS, I've been experiencing random huge stuttering (like 5 fps) and BSOD issues as soon as Windows starts(this happens regardless of the Win 11 version, 23H2 or 24H2).

Over the past two days, I tested three different BIOS versions (A1G(unofficial), A20, and A24) and did multiple clean installs of Windows. I was able to figure out the conditions under which this issue happens.

The issue only occurs after installed the graphics driver on a system with the A24 BIOS version. Before installing the driver, there are no problems at all.

The issue doesn’t always happen. If there’s no stuttering when Windows boots up, the problem won’t appear again until I reboot the system.

Surprisingly, even if I don’t change any power option, if I restore the power options to "default"(balanced, high perform doesn't matter)and reboot, the issue completely goes away forever. However, once I reinstall the chipset or graphics drivers, the issue comes back.

I got tired of testing and decided to roll back to version A20, and everything is working fine now.

I had some minor issues while using this motherboard for three months, but this is the first time I've faced such a serious problem with version A24 and hope this information helps the BIOS developer or someone.

  1. Try this:

  3. Disabling Legacy USB Support and XHCI Handoff in the BIOS.
  4. Installing the 10.74 Realtek network card drivers from the realtek.com official website (the Not Support for Power Down version)
  5. Installing the A24 BIOS
  6. Enable X3D Gaming Mode
  7. Disabling all monitoring in MSI Afterburner
  8. Disabling all power saving (PCIe, CPU) in BIOS an OS.
  9. Power Supply Idle Control is set to Typical Current Idle

Off topic, but I figured I'd ask since you seem to have thoroughly worked your way through the BIOS on this board.

Do you know of a working, stable driver for the Qualcomm Bluetooth and Wifi? The only driver version on the support site is so buggy I currently have them both disabled and am using a USB bluetooth adapter and a USB TP-Link wifi adapter.

For the stutter roll back to 7E51v1A1A bios. As far as the LAN, no issues here with driver 10.74.1126.2024 11/28/2024 (no power save support version)
