A320M-A PRO MAX – BIOS Update, AMD fTPM Attestation and RAM Boot Issue

Hello,


I have an MSI A320M-A PRO MAX motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500 processor and 2×8GB Husky Gaming DDR4 2666MHz RAM modules.


My current configuration is:

• Motherboard: MSI A320M-A PRO MAX
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4500
• BIOS: 7C52v2F
• RAM: 2×8GB DDR4 2666MHz
• Boot Mode: UEFI
• Secure Boot: Enabled
• TPM: Enabled
• TPM Manufacturer: AMD
• TPM Manufacturer Version: 3.92.0.5

I am experiencing a Failed Attestation / BIOS Firmware Update Required error in Call of Duty.


According to Activision's documentation, AMD fTPM versions following the 3..0. pattern, including version 3.92.0.5, require a firmware update.


I noticed that BIOS version 7C52v2H3 mentions an update to the TPM firmware for improved game compatibility.


However, I have another serious issue when updating the BIOS:


After updating to newer BIOS versions, my PC often fails to boot when both RAM modules are installed. The PC powers on, but does not POST and does not display any video output.


With only one RAM module installed, the PC boots normally.


Both RAM modules work individually, and the system worked with both modules before the BIOS update.


I have also tried different BIOS versions, including newer versions and a beta version, but encountered the same issue with both RAM modules installed.

Please clean the memory module's golden finger with eraser and switch the memory module connected sequence to check whether the system could boot with both modules connected.
Have you checked whether the system could boot with the older BIOS 7C52v2F by reverting back to the older version?

Try follow the step and see if it helps.
Also, do update to the latest BIOS on the website,
https://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7C52v2H5.zip
MSI does not always include sufficient info in the bios note, pretty sure your current one v.2H3 has no Microsoft CA 2023 which indicates outdated secure key.
Those "good" BIOS should be built in 2026 instead of 2025.

Yes, when I updated the BIOS, the system wouldn't POST with both memory sticks installed. I removed one stick and swapped it to a different slot; then it POSTed and Windows booted normally. However, even after cleaning the memory contacts with an eraser and reinstalling both sticks, it wouldn't POST again. So, I used only the stick that worked and restarted Windows to revert to the BIOS version that recognizes both memory sticks; the system then booted normally and recognized both of them...

In this case, the problem is no longer updating the BIOS—since updating it causes the system to recognize only one memory stick—but rather finding a way for the motherboard to recognize both sticks with the updated BIOS.
