Hi Folks, its been a while since I was here and have finally retired my old computer after 11 years faithful service  which I'd have dragged out for longer but a dodgy driver and some other issues messed up the OS.

So having been served well by MSI I decided to build another but as you can imagine the new tech has got me a bit baffled, anyway onto the problem.

I have a SSD for my operating system which I've installed with win 7 and have two other sata drives which show in device manager but cant use due to them not being initialised, try as I might with ctrl+r at the boot screen nothing happens but loads into windows. Am I doing this right? as this is what the manual states. tia Hazzo

PS any of the old timers still here? :hiha:

menu for ctrl+r is only if you wanna set an RAID array
and you have to enable RAID in bios setup 1st

but this is no need as i guess you don't want to set a RAID,
but only to initialize your other 2 HDDs as is

and have two other sata drives which show in device manager but cant use due to them not being initialised
from control panel, go to computer management,
disk management and initialize and setup your HDDs from there

Hi Svet, I'm wanting to have a raid 1 setup on these drives just for temp storage as I'm planning on keeping all my documents on a usb drive, I've tried the control panel which informs me 'disc not initialised' but doesn't provide any options.

Are you saying I need go back into bios enable raid for these two discs and then use control panel or should the ctrl+r work on the bios then.

I've not had this board running 24 hours yet and the manual isn't really helpful in explaining.
