Hi guys,

I just bought a fantastic MSI Creator M16 B13VE-682XES and need more space in the hard drive, so I went for the second SSD M.2 (NVMe) drive. My astonishment came when i saw there is no screw or holder of any kind to fix the drive. Please see the picture of the 2nd slot, and the drive is simply "floating" out of the motherboard, only held by a metal plate in the inner side of the cover. Any piece of advice how secure this instalation is? Is there any faulty component or is it ok?
Thanks and cheers
Victor

You need to contact MSI Service Center, to obtain the required bracket.

Service Center, to obtain the required bracket

Thanks drek. Yes, that was first thing I did, they just replied - surprisingly it took a while, maybe the dates are not helping.

They said I need an "instalation kit" which will be shipped to my address at no cost. Perhaps this is the bracket(s) you mention.

Very limited info available anywhere about this.

Cheers
Victor

yup I just bought a creator M16 B13VF-453US-BB71362H32GXXDX11MA
I was confused on how little info is on the official website about hardware information such as how many and type of memory and slots. My decision to buy this model was because the specs show SSD 2 x M.2 slot, supports PCIe SSD device (you really have to search for it)
First thing I did was pop open back. I was let down at first because the second slot was almost hidden and a little Rubber block next to battery. I know many laptops need a Second hardrive Bracket kit. Searching for it online was a bust other than a video I found that showed the bracket but the model in video the batter was farther away,.
I just did a support ticket at MSI website asking how to get a bracket. the next day they sent me this link https://service.msicomputer.com/msi_user4/support/rma_ak_form.aspx I filled it out with Serial number and it was approved for them to ship me one.:christmas:
I really hope being so close to battery does not cause heat issues or interference.
another let down was the factory SSD is a low rated Kingston SNV2S2000G 2TB but my benchmark test did have ok results

Hi there,

Currently living in the European Union and had the same problem. I created and account in my country's MSI website and registered my laptop (KATANA 17 B13VFK). I created a ticked explaining this same issue and answered my the same day requesting the same data in the website (laptop, proof of purchase, contact data and adress to send the piece). I am currently wating for the piece to arrive.

Hope you have the same luck in NZ.
