I am havign a very odd problem. Whenever I try to run any of the games I have (Roller Coaster Tycoon - all 3 versions, NHL 2001, NHL 2002) the games load then immediately crash to the desktop. However, if I re-install the drivers (MSI or Nvidia) and let the machine reboot after installation I can play the games fine until the next reboot. So, basically if I shut my system down aor need to reboot, I must re-install the video drivers to play any of my games again. Can someone please help me. I know heat is not an issue, my case has a total of four fans and my software is reporting perfectly fine temperatures of about 45 degrees Celsius.

One more thing, all these games run under XP on my older system with a different card.

Also, I have tried compatibility mode to no avail.

well i would bet on the psu not being good enough

try swapping with the other

make sure over 200 watts combined

unplug a few things lights etc

The PSU is over 300 watts (4get actual rating but i know higher than 300). Amd it works when I do a fresh install of the drivers so that wouldn't make sense.

I'm not trying to be rude, just trying to give my logic.

I Should have mentioned before but when the games crash, I get the windows error message and it when I click for more info it gives errors relating to Direct X modules.

I have this problem before. I change the PSU to 420W it still make the game still hang , until i change back to better 350W PSU ( My old PSU from another PC ). I solve this problem. :))

I See what you mean, i have a K7T Turbo2 MS-6330 and a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 and it keeps booting me out of Fighter Ace 3 dureing the load up with no error message, so i tryed reinstalling the drivers and ha ho it worked but only the once now i have a 450watt psu so it couldnt be that and im not buying another one, i see your logic m8!!!

at least someone finally understands. i know it's not my PSU because it works with the fresh install of drivers. Well used to, now that doesn't work either.
